As we're in these Fall Holidays we're studying how these biblical festivals celebrated today point so clearly to our Messiah's work of redemption and the return of our King! Our Producer and his family dive into this topic and share a bit of their perspective on how they use these appointed days to celebrate, teach, and grow closer to our Heavenly Father as a family. We also share some tips on how your family can celebrate and remember God's salvation wherever you are.

Im a gentile Christian (Korean American hehe) and I've always wondered whether I could celebrate/observe the Jewish holidays in the past. Now I understand that all of these feasts pointed to Jesus Christ, our Lord, and celebrating these holidays only further glorifies what He has accomplished and will do!

What a wonderful explanation of Fathers Biblical Holydays! Great job! I’ve been observing His Days for sometime now, but like you, I try and remember the meaning of why He asks us to keep His days. He is teaching us so much, from the past, for today, and for tomorrow. Abba bless you and your family.

We had a few people confused by the title of our podcast, so we wanted to re-upload with the new title to make it crystal clear, our heart is to educate and inform our audience. We see a clear connection in the scriptures and in modern and ancient tradition with these festivals that all points to Yeshua (Jesus) our Messiah. And with that we want to emphasize that following these traditions only points to what was and what is to come, and is NOT required just as the disciples decreed in the Jerusalem council of Acts 15. With that we want to simply share an insight on how to look at and learn about these days as a family and to keep our focus on Messiah in these Appointed Days.

I do not think according to scripture they are Jewish holidays but rather the holy days of God? They are God’s mo’edim not the Jew’s Mo’edim are they?. I understand that God refers to these days even before the jews existed. In Gen 1:14? So I think as believers it is a privilege to memorialize and study them because they are all about God’s plan of salvation, for all His people, through the Jewish Messiah Yeshua. At least this is what I have found reading the scriptures.

So this is how I understand Acts 15 in a nut shell. The new gentile converts were given 4 of God’s laws to keep. Because there were so many they started with theses four. Then it was said that wherever they are Moses is taught. In other words start small and as you learn more attending shabbat readings you can keep more of God’s instructions. I understand the law is good and perfect Ps 119. It is His very word. We don’t keep it to be saved but because we are saved and want to be like Yeshua and be a reflection of God’s holiness to a dark world?

The reactions to this informative and uplifting video remind me of the issue with vaccines and masks. People become so polarized and full of hate and rejection if they are not in complete agreement or don't fully understand both sides of the discussion. Answer is very simple. The Holy Spirit, through our personal prayer to Our Father in Heaven, will provide confirmation of the truthfulness of every aspect of the gospel and of our relationship with our Savior, Jesus Christ. Fighting, arguing, or accusing those who have either not received a witness or will not even ask for one, will not Advance the Gospel or bring any personal Joy. Learn the truth, live the truth, and leave the others alone.

We are provided with freedom about these when Yahshuah died on the cross for us, and took the curse that should be for us. It is all up to every Christian whether to take importance of that freedom or we kept going back to the curse while dragging some Christians too. (Galatians 3:10-13; 4:1-12a)

I love hearing your wife on the podcast with you! Thank you for THIS episode. All I could think about was all the things I DIDN'T teach my kids about Jesus and how much I as a Texican gloss over many things. We ramble through the festivals, etc without thought. I was telling the boys the other day as we were reading about the different offerings, "I know there is more to these different offerings than what we are reading." I feel really bad that I didn't bring my kids up reading the bible BETTER. Your wife talked about asking your kids about which redemption story they wanted to draw. WOW!!!! I have never taught my kids to think or talk like that. I feel so dumb. Thank you so much, I feel like I got closer to God in this episode!

Im so glad! Agree, you cant attain salvation thru works. But in Torah, Shabbat is a commandment. Its also a blessing to oberve. Literally He is commanding us to rest. I really enjoyed this as a gentile who has been grafted into Israel. I have wanted to celebrate the Biblical feasts and have been trying to in my own little way. I was amazed at how you described exactly the same things I’ve been feeling about observing some of them. When you came to the day of Atonement, your comments about how the 10 days of awe leading up to it described a trial and Yom Kippur was eagerly waiting for the verdict. As I pondered this, I began to realize that it is not the verdict that we are waiting for because we are already condemned and know the verdict. So, it seems that it is the sentencing that we are dreadfully waiting. Then, when our High Priest Jesus Christ comes out of the Holy of Holies after presenting His own blood and pronounces our sentencing as us being free and clear. it is like our handcuffs are unlocked and we are freed! Thank you so much for helping me to more clearly celebrate this beautiful memorial of what our Savior did for us!

Yehovah spoke several things to me last Yom Kippur. He gave me a great revelation concerning several different things. As for my understanding I take this day as a day of self-reflection and personal inventory as well as reflecting upon the body of Messiah and doing a collective inventory. And then repentance for my own sins and shortcomings and for the body of Messiah AKA Israel. Last Yom Kippur one of the revelations I got is that Yeshua hamashiach came to show us how we are supposed to be keeping the Torah. Because there was so much misinterpretation and misunderstanding. He lived the true example of what it means to keep the Torah. He explained the Torah using parables.

I've long had a deep desire to share in these Holy day celebrations but nobody in my Christian community has any awareness of/ or interest in them and trying to get the time off from work is impossible due to the labor shortage. I feel very alone in my longing for the holy festivals, and I don't know where I'd even start in trying to PRACTICE the festivals all alone as I am in this wish. Not to mention all the cultural details that are passed down in Jewish communities that make the festivals more than sitting and meditating which is all I would be doing if I were to even attempt this. But I still want to get to know Jesus in this way, but I am an outsider who doesn't even know where to start.

I understand I've observed the Holy Days by myself every year for about 5 years now, since I've moved, It is still a blessing 😊 reading God's word is what put the desire in my heart and is the best place to start trying to understand them. Lev 23 has a list of the 7 commanded feasts, the others are traditional and optional. Well technically under the New covenant they are all optional, lol I also did research on Google and KZbin videos to learn a messianic perspective. Turns out there was a Messianic synagogue not far from me and I learned a lot there but be careful many of these have a legalist spirit. They are as good at neglecting the new testament as Christian churches are at neglecting the old testament unfortunately. Follow where the Holy Spirit leads you and may He bless your endeavors.

The days and months change every year, they are based on the Hebrew calendar which is a lunar calendar. For instance Feast of Trumpets is usually in Sept but always on the new moon, Feast of Tabernacles always starts on the full moon sometimes in Sept sometimes in Oct. Every month on the Hebrew calendar starts on the new moon so is different than the Gregorian calendar that you are used to. Each year you can Google the dates or buy a Hebrew calendar. 😊

I had the privilege of traveling to Israel, Jerusalem, for the first time in 2014; Seven' years ago. I arrived on the Day of PASSOVER/Pesach (Genesis 22: 7-8, 13_ Exodus '12': 7-8, 13); that was also the first of the Tetrad Blood Moons that occurred on both Pesach and Succot of 2014-15 (Shmitah Year); it was directly related to the significance of the First (1st Month [Exodus 12:2) and (7th) Last (Isaiah 44: 6_ REV. 1: 17; 22:13) Moedim/Feasts/ Appointed times of YHVH. We know the 1st represents the Last Supper (Luke 22: 7-8, 19_ Matthew 26: 26-29) of the Lamb; Yeshuah (Fulfilled). The 7th represents the Marriage Supper of the Lamb! _John 7; 7-8, 37_ Luke 14: 15-24_ Psalm 19: 1-5_ Matthew 25: 1-10_ REVELATION 3: 20_ 7: 9-14_ 19: 7-9_ 22: 7, 17, "20-21" !!! I have to warn you (Ezekiel 3:17; 33:1-7): In 2021, the Times and the Seasons (GEN. 1: 14) to keep these Moedim have been changed (Daniel 7: 25); All Seven feasts are being observed 30 days before their "Appointed Time". The Biblical calendar year of 5781 was suppose to include the 13th month of "Adar II"; it did not. As a result, the 1st Spring Month of Nisan was declared on March 13, while still in Winter; and the 1st FALL(7th) month of Tishrei was declared on September 6-7; We are still in SUMMER! Never mind what everyone in the "Jewish" community are doing; the real Yom Teruah/Day of Trumpets comes with the New Moon of October 7-8, the Sun meets the Moon in the constellation Virgo, the Virgin (Isaiah 7:14_ REV. 7:14; 12:1-2); then, and only then, "Blow your Shofars; and The Last Trump on The Day of Atonement/YOM KIPPUR (Leviticus 25:9_ REV. 7:10); Tishrei the 10th (7.10). Then we can start reading, "YAH is my strength and song, and he is become my Yeshuah (Salvation): he is my EL and I will prepare him an habitation; my father's Elohim and I will exalt him. _Exodus 15: 2_ REV. 15: 3_ Psalm 118: 14-17, 22-29_ HalleluYAH!!!

John 14:15 Yeshua said if you love me you will keep my commandments. Also in the same area of John , Yeshua said Me and the Father are One. If Yeshua and The Father are one then the Father's Commandments are Yeshua's Commandments. He said if you love me you will keep / guard my commandments. All these things are commanded in the Torah. They will even be taking place during the thousand year reign. This is what the book of Zechariah says anyway. These Commandments aren't burdensome they are an honor. It's very honorable that we are chosen to live in this fashion in this manner.

I love your podcasts and especially this one on Sukkot. I am gentile believer in Yeshua and I agree that the feasts are associated with "the appointed times" (moed, Gen 1:14; Leviticus 23:4). Not only does Sukkot point to the appointed time for the 2nd coming of Yeshua, but it also points to the appointed time for 1st coming. The birth of Yeshua in Luke can be coordinated in the Hebrew calendar with Zacharias serving in the course of Abijah. The course of Abijah is the 8th course that David established in preparation for administering the Temple. The priests were organized into 24 courses and each priest served 5 times a year, 2 in their courses and all priests serving at the pilgrimage festivals, Pesach (Passover), Shavuot (Weeks) and Sukkot (Tabernacles). The Angel Gabriel said he would return "at the appointed time." Passover comes about 9 months after the course of Abijah. John the Baptist was born during "the appointed time" for Passover. Every year, the Elijah plate is set at the Seder meal. John the Baptist came in the Spirit and Power of Elijah, on Pesach. We know from the angel's pronouncement to Mary that Elizabeth was in her 6th month near the conception of Yeshua (Hanukkah). This would put Jesus birth in Sukkot. Sukkot is a remembrance of God dwelling with Israel in the skin draped Holy Tabernacle (Sukkot). Yeshua arrived and dwelled, (skenous, tabernacled, "with skin on") with us (John 1:14). There was not enough room in the "inn" (kataluma, guest room of their relatives in Bethlehem) because of the large numbers around Jerusalem at Sukkot. Could the "Bread of Life" been born in the "House of Bread", Bethlehem, in a sukka and placed in the "manger" for storing bread for the fesitival? If Yeshua was born on the 14th of Tishrei he could have been circumcised on the 22th of Tishrei, Shmini Atzeret, Simchat Torah, completing the Torah and signaling a New Covenant. Please comment. Thanks, Your Brother in Yeshua.

Does Sukkot signal the return or a later aspect such as fruitfulness of the earth after the light intensity is increased? There seem to be promises in the Prophets about a time of earthly peace and abundance. However, it seems hard to be overly definitive about these things and their fulfillment may not be exact as we may picture it. We can be faithful and put in all effort to add to our faith excellence and to excellence knowledge and to knowledge self control and so forth. 2Pe. 1.5f.

The fall festivities including Sukkot clearly has a prophetic nature, pointing to the return of Messiah and the millennial reign. In fact, Sukkot is the only feast specifically identified that the entire believing community will participate (Zechariah).

I've been a believer all my life. I love the Lord and I believe as a Non-Jewish American (gentile), we need to destroy the traditions that we were made to believe growing up. I mean, the MOST IMPORTANT day in a believers life is being shared with an idol! And named after a god that doesn't exist! THE DAY OUR LORD WAS RESURRECTED/ RAISED FROM DEATH TO LIFE. Not to mention the idol/god we've been made to worship on the day we were told was our Lords birth. I.E Saint Nick/Santa Claus. I believe these feasts ARE NOT a requirement for salvation but rather an opportunity to love our God (if you love me keep my commandments) and commune with him and each other. Having said that, I've never been able to participate in these feast. I don't have any Jewish friends (other than Jesus) who could show me how or to invite me to commune with them. I would love to participate in these feasts ! Any suggestions?

I do not believe the Christians are commanded to OBSERVE the Feasts of the Lord. But we are most certainly commanded to UNDERSTAND them. Their prophetic significance is one of the most powerful evangelical tools available to the church. The fact that the Spring Feasts have already been fulfilled not only glorifies the Lord Jesus, but also lends credence to the fact that God will most certainly fulfill the Fall Feasts as well. Jesus declared in Matthew 16:28 that there were some present with Him who would not taste death until they had seen the kingdom of God. Peter tells us that his presence with the Lord Jesus on the mount, when Jesus was transfigured and appeared with Moses and Elijah, was a fulfillment of Jesus’ words (2 Peter 1:16-18). What’s important to see is that Peter was moved by the Holy Spirit, even though befuddled and half-asleep, to suggest that he make booths (or Tabernacles) for Jesus, Moses and Elijah (Matt 17:4). The Spirit of God was connecting that transfiguration to Jesus’ second coming and the Feast of Tabernacles. And the Bible tells us that millennial nations that do not OBSERVE the Feast of Tabernacle‘s will not have rain (Zech 14:16-19). During the millennium all nations will be required to observe a FULFILLED Feast of Tabernacles. I believe that at this present time Christians are only obligated to UNDERSTAND it and proclaim its future certainty. And I believe that this is what 0FI is faithfully doing.

@@1erinjames Colossians 2:16-17 Therefore let no one sit in judgment on you in matters of food and drink, or with regard to a feast day or a New Moon or a Sabbath. Such [things] are only the shadow of things that are to come, and they have only a symbolic value. But the reality (the substance, the solid fact of what is foreshadowed, the body of it) belongs to Christ. We are given the freedom under grace whether to celebrate the feast of the Lord or not. Let no one should judge you for celebrating those feasts nor anyone who celebrates the feasts shouldn't judge those who don't. For who are you to put under burden of obligation your brethren under something that was already put away? If you do, you are putting back a Christian away from that freedom, putting back a Christian to a curse, and crucifying Christ back again on His cross! Galatians 3:10-11, 13 _And all who depend on the Law [who are seeking to be justified by obedience to the Law of rituals] are under a curse and doomed to disappointment and destruction,_ for it is written in the Scriptures, *Cursed (accursed, devoted to destruction, doomed to eternal punishment) be everyone who does not continue to abide (live and remain) by all the precepts and commands written in the Book of the Law and to practice them.* Now it is evident that no person is justified (declared righteous and brought into right standing with God) through the Law, for the Scripture says, The man in right standing with God [the just, the righteous] shall live by and out of faith and he who through and by faith is declared righteous and in right standing with God shall live. *Christ purchased our freedom* [redeeming us] from the curse (doom) of the Law [and its condemnation] by [Himself] becoming a curse for us, for it is written [in the Scriptures], _Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree (is crucified);_ Galatians 4:3-7, 9-12a So we [Jewish Christians] also, when we were minors, were kept like slaves under [the rules of the Hebrew ritual and subject to] the elementary teachings of a system of external observations and regulations. But when the proper time had fully come, God sent His Son, born of a woman, born subject to [the regulations of] the Law, *_To purchase the freedom of (to ransom, to redeem, to atone for) those who were subject to the Law,_* that we might be adopted and have sonship conferred upon us [and be recognized as God's sons]. And because you [really] are [His] sons, God has sent the [Holy] Spirit of His Son into our hearts, crying, Abba (Father)! Father! Therefore, you are no longer a slave (bond servant) but a son; and if a son, then [it follows that you are] an heir by the aid of God, through Christ. Now, however, that you have come to be acquainted with and understand and know [the true] God, or rather to be understood and known by God, how can you turn back again to the weak and beggarly and worthless elementary things [of all religions before Christ came], whose slaves you once more want to become? *_You observe [particular] days and months and seasons and years!_* I am alarmed [about you], lest I have labored among and over you to no purpose and in vain. Brethren, I beg of you, *_become as I am [free from the bondage of Jewish ritualism and ordinances], for I also have become as you are [a Gentile]._* Galatians 5:1, 4 *IN [this] freedom Christ has made us free [and completely liberated us];* stand fast then, and do not be hampered and held ensnared and submit again to a yoke of slavery [which you have once put off]. If you seek to be justified and declared righteous and to be given a right standing with God through the Law, you are brought to nothing and so separated (severed) from Christ. You have fallen away from grace (from God's gracious favor and unmerited blessing).

So, what I get is this: 1. jews can be jews and gentiles can be gentiles; jews do not have to become gentiles and gentiles do not have to become jews. 2. Jews and gentiles both can become saved under God's Eternal Covenant in the Blood of the Lord Jesus Christ/ Yeshuah Ha-Moshiach which is: Repentance toward God the Father for our lawlessness and ungodliness and sin Faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and His sacrifice for us and in this, we find that we can (by the power of God's Holy Spirit), return to God's truth in repenting our fallen ways (because we are no longer lying about our sins), walk in God's righteousness in our faith and obedience to the Lord Jesus Christ (because we are no longer resisting the gospel and the promptings of God's Holy Spirit). So, the festivals point to God's truth, and the final culmination of this age, which ends in the judgement of the ungodly and lawless, and the salvation of those covered with the righteousness of the Lord Jesus Christ. But, the participation in festivals, which point to the truth, are not part of the eternal covenant, which is the gospel of the kingdom of God. God bless you all! And happy holidays to you and your families!
