You are a very cute couple with a good attitude. But the fact is, these are very difficult and disturbing times and our lives are directly affected by political and social developments. If the basic views within a couple are too far apart, I think it is not going to work. I experienced this myself. And I decided that I needed to remain faithful to myself and to my views and values. Of course there must be room for compromise, but for me this only works up to a certain point.

This was very encouraging and so important to remind us all of our covenant in the midst of everything, even the political climate.

God has called us to be ONE. I would be concerned if my husband and I were not on the same page. This is the opportunity to communicate to each other and to be praying for each other and seeking God more in your marriage. Jesus says a house divided can not stand. Mtt 12:22-30. This isn't a joking matter. This is where we realize we have work to do in our marriage. The only King we need is Jesus in our marriage.

But political views often come from your value system, so if you have different values...RUN!

My husband and I have different politics and it wasn’t a huge deal in 2001 when we got married but in 2025 it’s a HUGE deal and that is what I always say, we have such different values! I know for sure we would NEVER be attracted to each other if we met today (or, let’;s face it, 2016). I know for sure I wouldn’t EVER do this again.

We had to turn the commercials off, & use a lot of grace with each other. God is the center of our marriage & the Kingdom of God comes first. We have given each other room to be individuals. Understanding that we each have our own perspective. I've actually decided not to vote this election because it will cause too much of a division in our household. God puts men in power anyways. I choose to submit to my husband without going against my convictions. I can understand & respect his perspective. We are Kingdom before politics or one another. Peace should always reign, even if it is a sacrifice. Blessings to everyone out there going through this in their home. Choose Jesus & His Kingdom & everything else will fall into place. Blessings to everyone & their families!!! 💜💜💜🙏

A great way to respect your husband is to cast a vote that he has lead for his family. This is being ONE in God and trusting your husband's leadership through God.

@@TxTonya I agree. However if that vote goes against God's Word, I can't justify doing so. That's why we have agreed that I won't be voting at all. I understand that he is the head of the household, & I respect that position. This was the best compromise that we were able to agree upon. Blessings to you and your family!!! 💜💜💜🙏

Prayers for you and your husband during this time. My husband is a Muslim and I am a Christian. I love him very dearly and I completely respect him. I don’t necessarily agree with all of his thoughts in regard for whom he is voting and I as well will not be casting a vote this November. There is so much divide and I just can’t add more division in our household. Jesus knows my heart and I pray that more than a vote, He will be reflected in my home first and foremost. 🙏♥️

I could not imagine if my husband and I were different. He is conservative/ Republican. Before marrying him, I was a liberal/feminist in a fallen state until I learned that everything on the left goes against God's word. It's literally the opposite. But we are able to talk about our political views. People need to not get so emotionally involved in politics.

How is the conservative side free of sin???

@@karinamorado7795 It's not about placing blame on one side or the other, for me. For me it's about values and beliefs and how they impact my life. For instance, this whole narrative that black people are victims of "white privilege" does nothing for me but keep me angry, a victim, and therefore easily controlled. I'm a black woman. What I do believe in is empowering people to lead their lives as they see fit.

@@Ms.Chan.T thanks for sharing Chan. I totally agree and can relate. I was a liberal even tho I didn’t call myself that..but my world views were very liberal although my upbringing was very conservative and “spiritual”. Fast fwd I came to Christ....It wasnt til the last few years that I realized how backwards I had it once my faith in Christ did Not line up/align with ANYTHING left. Like u said, its the complete “opposite” of what God was revealing to me in His word. My walk with Him effortlessly made my political views change bc I realized how connected they really are. (Our world-views: Faith & Politics) and as hispanic Nyc native I felt I had to be a part of this victimhood mentality for myself and for others when in reality it keeps us stuck and angry and feeling like I had to be consciously and subconsciously blame others for our communities issues (black n brown people). Again thx for sharing

However, what you are teaching is what goes against what God taught in the Bible to be equally yoked with your spouse.
