The messiah's name was always going to be Jesus according to Zechariah Chapter 6... which is the same name as the post exile high priest ,Yeshua! if the concept of Messiah and God are separate then it doesn't automatically follow that sins can be forgiven.. only God can forgive sins. furthermore if the expectation of Messiah is to reverse the events of Genesis 3 Genesis 6 and Genesis 11 then by Definition messiah has to be more than just a man. Jesus being born of Mary but not of Joseph is not a problem according to Jewish history because I believe during the reign of Queen Alexandra Jewish law made Heritage pass on, by matrilineal Bases. A basis for the Trinity can be established in the Old Testament by passages like Amos 4:11Isaiah 48:16.. and Judges chapter 2:1 and Daniel 7:9-14 Support for the idea of God becoming man in Scripture are Deuteronomy 18 verses 15 to 18 Focus of the verse speaks of the coming Messiah coming from lineage of Israel like unto moses. We also have Exodus chapter 23 verse 20 and 21 the context of which is speaking about the future Endeavor of going over Jordan then we come to Joshua chapter 5 verses 13 to 15 and the context of this passage is having just gone over the Jordan into Israel. Another proof of this idea perhaps most glaringly Jeremiah chapter 1 verses 4-10... the first thing you want to pay attention to is titles in verse 4 and verse 9... Hashem and the word of the Lord these titles are used interchangeably there's some definite implication there but the point of emphasis here is verse 9 because it goes a little further than just anthropomorphic language. Now the next concern is did Jesus ever claim to be God? And for this the scriptures I would provide are Matthew 26:64 Jesus directly quotes Daniel 7:13 John 10:34 Jesus claims to be the judge in Psalm 82 referencing verse 6 In John 10 versus Both 11 and 14 Jesus Yeshua says that he is the Good Shepherd and you can cross-reference this with the very first line of Psalm 23. In Mark chapter 6 starting from verse 45 Jesus walks on the water this is something designated in the Old Testament for something only God (job 9:8) can do this separates Jesus from the other people who did miracles. Where another claim would be is in the fact that Jesus forgives sins, off the top of my head is Mark chapter 2 now certainly there have always been Messianic claimants but none of them have ever claimed to forgive sins. Now the question becomes why would Jesus so secretive why didn't he just come out and say that he was the Lord God of Israel?... well one scripture off the top of my head of that I would provide here that might be interesting is this Matthew 16:20 "then he commanded his disciples that they should tell no one that he was Jesus the Christ"... my suggestion to you here, would be that the crucifixion how to take place at a certain place at a certain time and under a specific set of circumstances. Please Look into all the scriptures I made mention here I hope this helps even one person Hashem bless everyone of you... in the name of Jesus both son and God of David king of Israel, amen.

@@anitapierson3579 Let’s not dismiss the symbolism God embodied in His stars. The star gives light to the world in darkness… God gave them to us for signs and for seasons… Genesis 1:17-18 And God set them in the expanse of the heavens to give light on the earth, to rule over the day and over the night, and to separate the light from the darkness. And God saw that it was good.

@@enoch3874 Jesus never claimed to be God, he claimed to be the Son of God, the Messiah, (not God-the-Son, note that). At his trial, the high priest demanded to know if Jesus claimed to be the Messiah. NOT if he claimed to be God (note that also). The Messiah was sent by God and the one who is sent carries the full authority of the one who sent him. Jesus claimed this authority (power), see: Mat 9:6, Mar 2:10, Lk 5:24.
@enoch3874
@enoch3874 2 жыл бұрын
@@LanghamW1 so you're saying Jesus never claim to be God because he was speaking with the authority of God instead?.... the basis of your claim can be refuted by simply examining Genesis 28 verses 10 through 18 and comparing them with Genesis 31 verses 10 through 13... and moving on, certainly Exodus 23 verse 20 and 21 seem to corroborate your idea... but until we find a parallelism for this idea then I'm afraid it's only conjecture when it comes to scriptural interpretation "continuity" needs to be the key.... so then moving on to judges 2:1 you're going to have to come up with an explanation as to why the angel claims to have done something God did.... so we know that this is a very specific angel because if we go to Joshua chapter 5 verses 13 through 15 we find out that the captain of the Lord's host is the Angel spoken of in Exodus 23 verses 20 and 21...why? because both of the sets of scripture are chronological in nature. And in the Joshua five Passage you find the captain of the Lord's host saying something that was said by God all the way back in the burning of the Bush a phrase which is very familiar "take off your shoes from off your feet for the place where you stand is Holy".... we're going to have to wrestle with the implications of that, furthermore in passages like Exodus chapter 3 verses 2 through 6 and judges 6 verses 11 to 22... and amos 4:10 and 11 you have interchangeable titles of both God and God's angel and furthermore in Psalm 78 which depicts Israel's wilderness wanderings, the spirit is depicted in text to have lead Israel through the wilderness... if you have alternate explanation for these that does not add words into the text or assume anything beyond what is written, I'd be glad to hear it..... In John 10:34 Jesus put himself as the judge in Psalm 82 referencing verse 6, you didn't address this. In John 10 verses 11 and 14 Jesus says that he is the Good Shepherd now if you compare this with a very first line of Psalm 23 I think you have your claim right there, you didn't address this In Mark chapter 6 starting from verse 45 is the episode where Jesus walks on water, this itself is a claim, why?..because in Job 9 verse 8 this is something only Yahweh can do, so then, that's your claim right there. Furthermore I thought only God can forgive sins, so, why is Jesus God's angel claiming to forgive sins... this idea is all throughout the gospels but specifically off the top of my head I'll point you to Mark chapter 2 and ask you how you get around that conundrum. If you have an alternate explanation for these that does not add words into the text or assume anything beyond what is written then I'll listen to you But until then you are taking firstborn / begotten/Son of God not from what scripture says about it Nor from Jewish historical context which is the context that brought you scripture in the first place but you're simply imposing your own cultural context onto the Bible assuming that it was first written in English. I suggest to you that it is very important that you examine everything that I said looking up all scriptures that I wrote down here and thoroughly examining them before you reply, please resist the temptation to react in a impulsive manner because I really want to hear what you have to say but only if you have your mind clear ... don't just be reactionary please. And please don't skip anything or just lightly skimp on anything but address everything.

THE STRANGER WHO CAME TO LIVE WITH US By Ken Raggio A few months after I was born, my parents heard of a stranger who had just come to town. They heard lots of fascinating stories about him. He was the talk of the town. One day, someone introduced him to my parents, and they invited him to come to our home. All of us quickly fell in love with him and, believe it or not, they invited him to come live with us permanently. Instantly, he became a huge part of all our lives. Since he was already living with us when I started growing up, I never questioned his place in our home, or in our family. We were Church-going people. We read our Bibles, and prayed about important things. We believed in obeying and living by the Word of God. We believed that the Bible should define all our values and beliefs. But the stranger was a big storyteller. He never ran out of stories to tell. Every day, he had something new. Adventure stories. Mysteries. Comedy. Old cowboy stories. Romance stories. You name it, he had a story for everything. We spent hours, almost every evening, listening spellbound to the stranger as he told us his stories. As our family grew, the stranger became an intimate friend to us all. We actually listened to him a lot more than we listened to each other. As long as he was in the room, we almost never talked to each other. He took us to our first major league baseball game. He took us to almost every movie that came out of Hollywood. He introduced us to all the famous movie stars, all the celebrity singers and dancers. Thanks to the stranger, we learned about so many people and things that we would never have known without him. People that we really didn't need to know. He was an incessant talker. Sometimes, Daddy or Mother would get tired of listening to his stories, and leave the room, while us kids just sat there and continued listening, all the way till bedtime. Then we begged them to let us stay up late so we could hear some more stories. I wondered if they ever regretted letting him move in with us. I think we probably would have had a lot more time with each other if he hadn't been around. I feel sure that we would have read the Bible and prayed and talked a lot more about good and Godly things if he hadn't been there. The really bad thing about the stranger is that he never had the same values that my family did. Daddy and Mother were both God-fearing, Bible-reading, Church-going people. They both ruled our household with certain moral convictions. But this stranger never showed any respect to our values whatsoever. For example, I never heard my parents use one word of profanity. Bad words were just not allowed in our house. And they would not allow us to make friends with people who talked like that. But our longtime visitor gradually started using bad language. At first, it was pretty rare - just an occasional four-letter word. But it burned our ears and made us all squirm. Every now and then, they would make him shut up, but as time passed, he became bolder and bolder to say things and talk about things that were really taboo - things that none of us would have been allowed to discuss. His language got worse and worse and worse. All our family and friends were teetotalers. We did not approve of or allow alcoholic drinks EVER in our household. But the stranger did everything he could to show us that drinking was cool. Almost every day, he would tell us stories about people drinking, and smoking, doing drugs, gambling, and committing crimes, and doing immoral things. And almost every time, he made it look like there was nothing wrong with it. He made it look like all those things were perfectly normal for everybody. He tried to persuade us to buy beer, cigarettes, and do all kinds of things that we didn't believe in. He made a hard sell, too. He always made them look like we would really enjoy them, and that we would be more popular and fit into the crowd. And then there was the subject of sex. Our family NEVER discussed sex, but the stranger talked about it all the time. He talked way too freely about it. It was embarrassing. Sometimes, his comments were so blatant and offensive that every one of us blushed, but nobody told him to shut up. He just kept talking, and we just kept on listening. A whole lot of my earliest ideas about love and sex came from him. Unfortunately, everything he taught us was EXACTLY the opposite of what we were told at Church, and what we read in the Bible. If we hadn't gone to Church and read the Bible, the stranger would have made us completely different kind of people than we were. As I look back, I know that it was a miracle from God that the stranger did not influence us more than he did. I know that it was because we always heard strong preaching at Church that refuted all the stranger's values. But I have no doubt that our minds were still affected negatively by his relentless arguments. It did not make any sense for us to allow him to continue living in our house, but he did. He was rarely rebuked, and was never asked to leave. I am sure that he made me think and believe a lot of things that I would never have accepted if he had not been there day-in and day-out. A lifetime has passed since the stranger moved in with our young family. He is much older, and his stories by now have been told all over the world. Everybody knows him by name. The worst part is that the stranger has turned into a really dirty old man. His mouth is so foul, nowadays. He never stops using the most obscene, profane language. And he never stops talking about sex, and violence, and immoral things. It is appalling and horrifying. Hour after hour, he just rants and raves and spouts off all his filthy talk. He constantly shows pictures of things we shouldn't even be looking at. Even his rants about politics and religion are hateful, irrational, and intolerable. Every day, he fills the ears of his listeners with all kinds of downright lies. He really sounds like he works for a tyrannical dictator. And now, he argues non-stop that we should approve things like homosexuality, and drugs, and all kinds of immorality and perversions. He spends an awful lot of time trying to convince us that there is no God. I've come to believe that he is actually working for the devil himself. The last time I heard him on a rant, I was utterly shocked. He made me feel completely vile. I decided that I simply do not want to listen to his garbage any more. I made up my mind that from now on, I am treating him like the enemy that he really is. Oh, I never mentioned his name. We just called him "T.V."

I'm wondering, do you have a video about the vision Peter had of the sheet coming from heaven with all the unclean animals? There's such a huge misconception in our American Christian culture of what that part means. I don't think it's talking about how we can now all eat bacon, but instead is about how Peter (and the Jews) were to receive the Gentiles, like you say. I'd so appreciate insight on that part. Thank you!👍😊

I just finished reading Jonah, and the timing could not be any better 🙂 God's grace and mercy are beautifully represented in this book. I like how you highlighted that the sailers were the first mission before Ninevah. God's plan is so much bigger than we realize and I believe this is very encouraging for the different seasons of life. ❤

Ah, Dr Golan Roshi where have you been?! Been a while since I've seen you featured on this channel even though I'm mostly only here specifically for your videos. Hoping you show up more often as such discussion videos are a blessing. Even though I may occasionally maintain a few healthy skepticisms to some of your takes on some things, mostly the extra canonical views lol. But glad to see you're still around doing these vids 💪 Grace and shalom 🙏 ❤️

And thanks for taking that bit of time to explain why Dr Roshi quotes extra canonical stuff as that's was a reason behind some healthy skepticism. Didn't realize he was engaging in Jewish apologetics as Dr Roshi's excitement when talking about such extra cannon stuff can sometimes come off as condoning such books 😅. Understandably he's excited for a different reason and usually clarifies he doesn't encourage reading them after it's pointed out. It's just it could be misunderstood if not clarified. So the disclaimer chip in's like in 24:41 mins of the vid are always great. That way it's not stumbling blocks to babes in Christ who might think to go read such. I think no one in the faith wants innocent blood on their hands, especially considering what the Lord Jesus Christ said about causing little ones to stumble. Thanks for another good vid OFI team 🙏❤️

Amen God is full of mercy . In a way I feel like God brought me from death and brought me back to life . My testimony is I physically died after giving birth to my son . When I died , I seen my spiritual state (Lost and so far from God ). I was in a room of pitch blackness , through the door the window was light of different colors shining through . There was a very very angry man pacing back and forth . I now know that was a devil angry that God gave me another chance . I came back to life . After that day I received a dream of my grandpa , said twice in Spanish , in a very serious manner redemption . I did not know the word , so I researched what the word meant . God was so merciful full of grace to give me the Holy Spirit to clean me to become a new creation in Christ . The old me had to die , so that Jesus can bring me back to life !!! Thank you Jesus for what you did on the cross for me . Thank you Lord for going back for the one out of the 99 . I didn’t deserve it , but your love is so great . God is good He made a way to Salvation , and that is through Jesus Christ ❤

God bless you in your good work!! I love listening to One for Israel broadcasts with Dr. B…but today was special. Jonah is my most favorite book of the bible because of how the character of God is revealed over and over. I love how everywhere Jonah went, the Lord was saving people…in spite of Jonah. I also love how gentle God is with Jonah despite his disobedience and what I believe to be an illustration of mental health challenges Jonah may have struggled with. I love and appreciate the transparency of this book…how Jonah is vulnerable with us, the readers. How God provided a fish…this is a rescue mission, not a punishment! I also love how after going down into the deep, when Jonah is brought back up, the message of God goes out to gentiles. I love that Yeshua referenced this small short scripture that would have been easy to overlook. Every piece of scripture has value and treasure. As I continue praying for the opening of eyes, ears, hearts and minds of Israel and others, I thank the Lord for you and pray that His Spirit will continue renewing your strength as you press on. Thank you for this lesson! 💕 in the matchless name of Yeshua!!

Enoch, God appeared to Abraham before Abraham was a Jew and identified Himself as "The Lord God Almighty", only then telling him to walk before Him and be blameless. After that God promises to give him a son, whereupon Abraham shows us that his concept of God was too small, saying that he was too old to have children. That then is the whole point, it could be said that Abraham is not the Father of Isaac, God is the Father and Sarah is the human mother of the PROMISED SON. Just as an aside then Ishmalites can claim Abraham but not Sarah. In his encounter with God at the burning bush Moses was told that this is the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. Having identified Himself God then told him what he was to do. Moses questioned God as to whose name he was sent under. God stated that He was the self existent eternal I AM Who I AM. Exodus 3:4 When the LORD saw that he turned aside to see, God called to him out of the bush, Moses, Moses! And he said, Here I am [5] Then he said, Do not come near; take your sandals off your feet, for the place on which you are standing is holy ground. [6] And he said, I am the God of your father, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob. And Moses hid his face, for he was afraid to look at God. (ESV)Exodus 3:13 Then Moses said to God, If I come to the people of Israel and say to them, ‘The God of your fathers has sent me to you,’ and they ask me, ‘What is his name?’ what shall I say to them? [14] God said to Moses, I AM WHO I AM. And he said, Say this to the people of Israel: ‘I AM has sent me to you.’ Yeshua did clearly claim Deity in John's gospel chapter 8 and verse [58] Jesus said to them, Truly, truly, I say to you, before Abraham was, I am. (ESV). In this He identified Himself as being the One who appeared to Abraham, who gave the promise and who was the promise, it was also the Name of God who appeared to Moses and therefore the One who delivered Israel from Egypt. Very truly and certainly from His own mouth Yeshua claimed to be God. The problem is that mankind's concept of God is way too small.

I think about if the Jews would have believed upon Jesus as their Messiah. They, like Jonah, would have brought that great message to the gentile world. They would have been able to explain about the customs and culture at the time. Things that are said that really don’t have any context to the gentiles, could have been expounded on and how much greater understanding we would have today. The Jews are such a treasure trove full of knowledge. When I hear a rabbi speak, I’m like, “Yes! Yes! Yes!”. They are right there…so close but so far away. Praying for the Holy Spirit to move upon the Jews so they will finally see their salvation.

It's great to hear this discussion. I love the depths of the book of Jonah. In chapter 4 v 10 (the last verse) But the Lord said, “You have been concerned about this plant, though you did not tend it or make it grow. It sprang up overnight and died overnight. 11 And should I not have concern for the great city of Nineveh, in which there are more than a hundred and twenty thousand people who cannot tell their right hand from their left-and also many animals?” God also cares about the Ninevites because he saw that they had repented, that their sin was because they were lost. And he cared also about animals that would have been killed. Amazing.

Very nice teaching. I loved it. One point was made at about 15:00 minute mark. The sailors knew and feared Yehovah! They knew His Name. The stories of His fame going all the way back to the Exodus and devastation of Egypt, and then the conquest of Canaan were still being told. Those sailors realized, “Oh crap! This guy angered, Yehovah! He’s the really powerful one!! We’re all doomed!” But how awesome that God spared all of them! What a huge lesson and blessing it was for them. Thank you for posting this. Shalom.

The Book of Jonah to me is kind of like that as well it was up to Jonah to speak to Nineveh to warn them about disaster coming but he was mad and didn't want to do that so he tried to run away from God and God hold him in in the way of a giant fish and deposited him on land so that he would do what God wanted him to do whether he liked it or not this is one time in the word of God where God literally has to bend someone's will to do what he wants because it was important enough for God to save the whole city of Nineveh even by the way of one very reluctant angry prophet who in my opinion does not even need to be called a profit or a believer in God because of his actions and his attitude before and during when he had to speak to Nineveh and his selfish actions after it was done and the whole city was saved God in heaven and all of Heaven rejoice and Jonah was mad and pouted because he didn't get his own way and run away what a selfish person to be named a so-called prophet of God what a joke Jonah was I hope he made heaven but I seriously doubt it! 😟🙏😡😳🙄

@@ritchievernon8099 - You make some great points. I guess even Jonah received the ‘undeserved’ mercy from God. We don’t know what else he said or did outside of his book and what was mentioned about him. He might have been an incredible obedient man after this. His story is really (as you said) about God’s mercy not man’s judgment. We’d all be dead if men decided our fate. I remember how I was reading about king Manasseh. What a rat he was! I thought, “Surely God struck him down.” Then I read the rest of the story. Wow. He woke up, saw his errors and changed. Shalom.

Please Look into all the scriptures I made mention here I hope this helps even one person Hashem bless everyone of you... in the name of Jesus both son and God of David king of Israel, amen..

Shalom. Mark 4:35-41 35 That day when evening came, he said to his disciples, “Let us go over to the other side.” 36 Leaving the crowd behind, they took him along, just as he was, in the boat. There were also other boats with him. 37 A furious squall came up, and the waves broke over the boat, so that it was nearly swamped. 38 Jesus was in the stern, sleeping on a cushion. The disciples woke him and said to him, “Teacher, don’t you care if we drown?” 39 He got up, rebuked the wind and said to the waves, “Quiet! Be still!” Then the wind died down and it was completely calm. 40 He said to his disciples, “Why are you so afraid? Do you still have no faith?” 41 They were terrified and asked each other, “Who is this? Even the wind and the waves obey him!” The Great Yod Hey Vav Hey is worthy of all Praise. AMEN.

Loved your analogy of when God might have prepared the fish for Jonah at the beginning of creation. It's like the reveal about the actual Lamb that willingly allowed herself to be sacrificed to cover the nakedness of Adam and the Woman who is later named Eve. It's not until the sacrifice of Isaac which is a much deeper storyline of the events as described in the Bible if one were to actually listen to God himself and has made it very clear by saying for us all to read, pour over all of the scriptures like the bereans would have done, by applying the two verses that say Is it not written in the book of Jasher. Here you would have learned that the Ram that was slain in place of Isaac was the original One that was widowed in the garden of Eden. BTW the tent scene is a direct quote by Paul about bragging about the little bit of flesh in the circumcision as opposed to the circumcision of our hearts

What is "The Sign of Jonah"? ...then the Queen of Sheba began to question and said: "I have heard of thee and thy wisdom; if now I inquire of thee concerning a matter, wilt thou answer me?" Solomon replied: "The Lord giveth wisdom, out of His mouth cometh knowledge and understanding." She then asked many riddles of him:... #11. Queen of Sheba: "The Dead lived...the Grave moved...and the Dead prayed: WHAT (sign) IS THAT?" King Solomon: "The Dead that lived and prayed, was Jonah...and the Fish, was a moving Grave."... { Legends of the Jews, Louis Ginzberg, Chap. 5 Solomon: the queen of sheba}

Sign of Yonah being in the belly of the fish 3 days and 3 nights is a prophecy spoken by Yeshua himself. So it begs the question, "how could a crucifixion on Friday and resurrection on Sunday have fulfilled Yeshua's own prophecy?" critics ask. Book of John chapters 12-20 has a chronology of events that points out that Jesus most likely died on Thursday. How? John 12:1 - 6 days before Passover eve (Nisan 15) on Nisan 9 Jesus is in Bethany on the weekly Shabbat. John 12:12 - the next day (Nisan 10), Jesus enters Jerusalem on a donkey (Palm Sunday). Selection of Passover lambs Exodus 12. Exodus 12 - for 4 days there is an examination for lambs without blemish (Nisan 10, 11, 12, 13) for the sacrifice on Nisan 14. John 13:1-2 - Jesus shares a "Last Supper" with his disciples on the eve of Nisan 14 - a pre-messianic Seder that has wine as well. John 18 & 19 - Jesus is arrested and crucified on Nisan 14 (Thursday) when lambs are sacrificed 3 days prior to Sunday (Nisan 17). John 19 - Body of Jesus removed and buried before Feast of Unleavened Bread (Nisan 15) - a special Yom Tov Shabbat (Good Friday). Hosea 6:1-2; Jonah 2:1; Matthew 12:40; Matthew 28:1; John 20:1; 1Corinthians 15:3-4 - Jesus fulfills 3 days and 3 night prophecy. Talmud Sanhedrin 43a states that Jesus was hung prior to Pesach (Nisan 15). Remember Nisan 14th is the slaughtering of the lambs, but the actual Passover meal is eaten on the Eve of Nisan 15 with unleavened bread, bitter herbs, and Pascal lamb.
