The bottom of my existing switch has a wire that is feeding into the conduit located on the top or ceiling side of the junction box which differed from this video. Is it more likely that the wire leading to the top ceiling facing conduit is the hot wire? The top wire on the existing switch feeds into the conduit facing towards the ground. Thank you

Instructions for my Lutron DIVA dimmer switch says Load (RED) & Hot (Black) from switch "can be used interchangeably" - BUT - my LED overheads are not dimming. Is it possible that it DOES matter which color wire (from switch) you use for dimming to work correctly (single pole use)? Thanks

I have an older home and found only two wires coming from the breaker box. They are not labeled hot or load. Does it matter which wire I connect to my switch?

He covers this beginning @ 4:11 of the video. I also live in an older home and all of my wires enter and exit at the top of the box so I just connected one black to black and the other black to solid red wire..

what is the red and white wire that was unused for? I am having issues with 2 switches. I replaced one switch and it works fine but now the 2nd switch only works if the new one is turned on. Meaning if new switch is turned off, 2nd switch will not operate to turn on or off

If you haven’t found out, that is a 3 way switch wire. Multiple switches for one light

When you clock up it’s off wjen down it’s on, I thought it was installed backwards -

In the video you hooked up the red and white wire for the single pole application and that is incorrect, it is only used for the 3 way application.

No he didn't. Look at 6:44 in the video where he connects the solid red to load, then he just tapes over the end of the red/white striped wire explaining that its only used for 3 way.

He did not. He put a piece of electrical tape so it has no contact with the other wires.
