Dude why haven’t I seen this tip before. I had a decent kick before but now I have a super kick , how in the world is this not being taught on more KZbin channels . This is genius !!! Thank you

This is the best explanation doing justice to the kick serve at the same time dispelling the dilemma of pronation for the spin serves.

Another brilliant and original idea! In addition to developing the correct swing path, I think this idea helps the player use the correct GRIP for the kick serve. Can't wait to try it out on the court.

So you dont do pronation on a kick serve? If you do pronation than your palm will never be facing up at the end ofvthe serve.

I struggle with getting topspin on the serve. The other video using the "beach ball" cue helped quite a bit. Have tried this "shake hands" tip out briefly but it did not immediately click. Having trouble shaking hand. Especially the left hand position. Will keep trying.

Try emphasizing the right palm pointing upwards. And also make sure that you're hitting the ball lower than normal. Glad your enjoying the channel Please let me know how it goes? www.oneminutetennis.com

How do you accommodate hitting a kick serve wide as a righty on the ad side? I find myself having to finish out wide and if I curl around to "join the hands" I don't get enough of an angle to my opponent's backhand.

Watching Sinner at Shanghai.. he does this for all his serves

I was confused by your comparison with the flat serve : "the hands are together.." "the hands COME together " ... ? Is it that for the flat, the racquet points downwards or backwards but for the kicker it points upwards ?
@oneminutetennisАй бұрын
Hi. I always do the videos in one take. And occasionally they are not as clear as they should be. In this instance, your right, it's confusing. Essentially, on a flat serve, the racket is at 90° to the ground. So it's difficult to bring the hands together. On the kick serves the racket is parallel to the ground and so it's easy to bring the hands together. Does that make better sense? It's great that your enjoying the site. www.oneminutetennis.com

Well, in case of a slice serve, the final hand position would be the same…

Yes. Your 100% right. I didn't include this, because I want the videos to be short and precise. But the principle is exactly the same. Glad your enjoying the channel. Do you have any other tennis issues that I could help with? If so let me know www.oneminutetennis.com

Don’t understand, with right hand pronation after hitting the ball, it would not be nature to handshake the racket with left hand
@alm430022 күн бұрын
Exactly, if you do pronation on the serve your palm will be facing the opposite direction. How these two combine?
@oneminutetennis22 күн бұрын
@alm4300 pronation is a bi product of the momentum of the swing. You shouldn't force it. It should just happen. And if it just happens, then the hand recoils into an upward facing position. Almost all the pro players have right hand palm up by the time the stroke is ending. Many do not have the left hand facing the right hand, because they do not need help with the swing path of a kick serve. But I've helped players of all levels with this idea. From 3.5 to just outside the top 100. Hope that this makes sense

@oneminutetennis8 күн бұрын
Yes. I totally agree. But everything I do is based on specifics. So many coaches refer to 75 reference points at once and leave the player bewildered. Do you want a link to my video on ensuring the tossing arm is times correctly? Glad your enjoying the channel. Do you have any other tennis issues that I could help with? Almost all your videos are brilliant or useful. But this isn't going to do help anyone. Federer, one if the best kick serves of all time did nothing like this. I agree that the clock face analogy is not particularly helpful; this one isn't any better.
@oneminutetennisАй бұрын
Hi. I'm glad you like most of my ideas. I think you miss the point of this video, which probably means I have not explained it very well. The final objective is to emulate the swings and strokes of the best players in the world. But we have to start somewhere. Starting at the perfect, finished result would be amazing... But... Unlikely. I wonder if Federer had a perfect kick service action in his first few years in the game? This trick actually works. If you need to develop the kick service swing path. It doesn't mean that a pro player who has hit 100, 000+ kick serves will use it, or need it. Does that make sense and answer your question?
@don9733Ай бұрын
Number pros used this kick serve swing path technique, federer one is not the be all end all. This is actually pretty intuitive
@cookjeremiah19 күн бұрын
This works , I had the wrong idea on the swing path, I could force it to work but this tip makes it effortless , it has changed my swing path for the better. So efficient , I have tried so many things and this is my favorite piece of advice ever. It forces me to put my swing path into a path I had never tried before as I was thinking too hard and trying to use my brain to make a path that I thought would add spin and it did add spin. But my path is totally different and better now and the only thing I am thinking about is how the hands meet. It may not work for everyone but worked amazing for me. My old path worked but it was very hard to implement , it put my body in a very strange position and I was over rotating my hips and shoulders. This new path gives me way more spin and has also allowed me to find a path that keeps me from over rotating. And when I swing up I’m just going for a swing that will allow my hands to come together as he wants them at the end. I don’t even need to look at my racket and hardly need to look at the ball for more than a split second. I can just feel it. The first 5 minutes of practice was very weird but then it started to work a little . The next 15 minutes it just got better and better .
