Hi Tia and Cheveyo, glad you made it to one of my favourite cities, Madrid. Yes, the churros in San Gines are good but if you're still in Madrid try having Porras. They are bigger and are more doughy so if you love donuts (Who doesn't!) you'll love porras. If you haven't already come across James Blicks - Spain Revealed, be sure to watch his vlogs on Madrid's tapas bars. A trip to Madrid isn't complete without eating tapas and washing down with a glass of Vermouth. Madrid is so close to Segovia and Toledo, so I hope you both have time to visit at least one of them. last time on the overnight bus, and now in spain i see some opportunities to experiment with lighting. i use a led flashlight called “big larry”, it doesn’t last forever, but puts out some clear light. i remember my own visit to europe, and those old buildings create some issues. one was the pensione i was staying in, the hallway entrance was on a timer. once i didn’t make it to my room in time, and i crawled up stairs in total darkness.

loved Spain.. went in February 2020 before US got lockdown... and Madrid was awesome.. lots of history but make your way to Seville... capital of Andalucia region... southern charm and small town feel.... cool vibes down there.. .dont forget the jamon (ham) and vino.. they have surprisingly good wine.

Ahhh, brings back memories of when we were is Madrid. It was a two week working trip, but we managed to find time to explore Avila and Segovia. Took a while to get use to the idea of eating late, but we managed to wait until 8pm! We loved Madrid, a truly wonderful city. As many others have said, don't burn out. Remember to take some time and smell the roses (figuratively speaking).

Excellent shot compositions. Hilarious that Tia for scale and the camera doesn’t focus. I think you need to experiment with the right object tracking setting for Tia for scale. Maybe shoot in auto if you aren’t or lock the aperture. Also you should try a little colour / exposure correcting in post to ensure you don’t wash out the sky. This is where the iPhone computational videography shines. You should see what the frequency does to your KZbin stats. If it doesn’t make a big difference then go back to alternate days. I wonder if you had the camera on a gimbal would it be easier to handle. Nice to see you’re adjusting well to the shadow the camera throws.

Madrid is such an underrated city! One of my favorites, not sure what your plans are but if you can check out Toledo! It’s a great day trip from Madrid! Also, a great place for breakfast and churros is Chocolat and nice coffee shop to check out is Nomad Café. Saludos!

after taking the bus from lisbon to madrid would you do it again? im trying to figure out if the bus ride would be better than taking a flight considering most airpots lately have been cancelling and delaying flights

We took the bus because it was the least expensive option, and if you take the overnight one you also save some money on a hotel/hostel. It wasn’t a bad bus ride, it seemed pretty new and the drivers were really nice. The one we took stopped around midnight so people could use the restroom and get snacks. That said, it looks like the cost of flights are dropping dramatically about halfway through September, so if you’re flying around then I’d stick with the flight!
