thats really special. Glad you guys made it back to spend time with those you love. after my grandma had died, my grandpa was living alone, and couldn't make it down for christmas to see family, so my crazy brother and I had a couple days off, left christmas day drove 13 hours and knocked on grandpas door for christmas, we then went to bed, woke up the next day had breakfast with him and then drove home 13 hours. we were only there for a little bit, but its something grandpa remembered fondly in his later years and nearly 20 years on, I still think about too.

So glad you got to spend time with family this Christmas! My husband has stopped just looking over my shoulder at your videos and has searched you out for himself. I was saying how part of your appeal is how much you love each other, and he said you remind him of us (talk about sweet!). We are still travelling together at 76 and 66 years old, and I think that has a lot to do with it. Happy travels in the year to come, from snowy Ontario, Canada! (PS would love just one postcard!).

My local Library has a "Language Cafe" which does the same conversational practice for migrants,refugees,etc. For us volunteers, an enlightening and rewarding experience. The people we meet from diverse backgrounds both culturally and socially teach us as much as we "teach" them. Full marks for taking the time to give back some of what Laos had given you both. I'm a firm believer in the idea that there's a balance in most things. There are some people who just look good no matter what they're wearing, if they've just crawled out of bed or if they've just come in out of storm. To balance that, there are some people (like me) who look scruffy after 2 mins in anything they wear, so there's no point in making an extra effort, just wear what's comfortable. Cheveyo's comment while cleaning the backpacks for the airport resonated with me :-)

Who would have thought you’d find Gelato in Laos! Enjoy seeing other cultures - Laos particularly has such a laid-back vibe and relaxed traffic rules - no helmets for motor bikes and scooters and no seatbelts for taxis. So great you made it home to spend Christmas with family! If you haven’t already, you should one year experience a Summer Christmas in the Southern Hemisphere - eating fresh seafood - prawns and crabs, cold meats, barbecue and salads and pavlova for dessert, washed down with cold beer and followed by an afternoon swim at the beach - that’s how we do it on the East Coast of Aus! HAPPY NEW YEAR! 🥳
