If a bug appears in the OS or an app, it may never be fixed. Why buy something that in two years, will become a security risk with no support when other brands/manufacturers such as Apple, Samsung, and Pixel will support their devices for 7 or more years? The SD8G4 is based on something other than the Snapdragon X-Elite, which is dated, probably early 2023 designs. It is gen-2 and will be what the X-Elite Gen-2 is based on. There are two reasons for this: the age of the ancient X-Elite and the court case between ARM and Qualcomm. If ARM wins and the SD8G4 is based on the X-Elite, it could be banned, so Qualcomm redesigned it. Of course, ARM saw this and has withdrawn their licenses to Qualcomm, which, if followed through, would mean they could still ban the SD8G4. Still using the oneplus 8 ever since it came out and i have to say it still work exactly like it was when i bought it while having bugs sometimes. There is degradation on the battery but its not a big issue since i still can use it almost a full day while also gaming here and there. I would this new phone with that battery life would be crazy long lasting and can be used for a longer time that my phone lasted. excited to see the longevity of the smartphones are no longer the hardware but the software side of thing

Wait a minute, how did a Chinese manufacturer get their hands on the 888 Elite? The last time I checked, the U.S. had imposed a ban on advanced chips like these ??

Nice to see how well the new 8 Elite chip turned out gen 3 felt a big downgrade compared to the gen 2, we finally have an excellent option again. Also happy to see large batteries, all I need now is a foldable to utilize these (hopefully the Open 2).

Samsung better release Snapdragon powered phones in Indian market instead of crappy Exynos powered. And if they don't we need to stop buying Exynos powered phones and for the same price.

At this rate the one plus needs to have better cameras. I owned a 7Pro and it was behind other flagships at the time. Nowadays they’re charging very close to flagship prices and still lagging behind even a pixel or iPhone from last gen. Pictures are ok for the most part but video really puts them in shambles. I loved one plus for what it was back in the day but I can’t justify spending more than $700-800 on a phone if it doesn’t outperform a last gen phone.

So excited for this one usually i don't care much about flagship battery test because for the past few years they almost the same and always the midrange and budget that preformed better in terms of battery test but this new 8 elite chipset closing the gap. Right now im using 7 gen 3 with 6k mAh i can easily last 10 hrs screen time or more with some gaming and light usage, with mobile data on and also some hotspot since i mostly use laptop to do things. I think we don't need anymore powerbank to carry since the battery life so good now and also the charging speed is fast enough, just hope there will be smaller charger that will replaced powerbank use soon

That battery comment on charging to 80% is quite promising. On my current S23 plus, I have been keeping the charged range between 15% and 80%. The battery degradation is significantly less than charging to full. I am projecting that I could use this phone for 9 years rather than 3 years.
