i've had my oneplus 5 since 2017. I even kept it around even though I upgraded to the 7T Pro. Tonight, I finally decided to revisit these videos and upgrade the batteries on both these phones. Thanks for these videos! happy to report that my hands are only a little bit cut up lol.

The filming teardown was about 45 minutes, editing and voiceover was about 5 hours. Rendering/uploading/ title/ description/ tags, were another 2 hours. So about 8 hours total.

Awesome tear down video! A friend of mine had his OnePlus5 washed in the washing machine. I was able to use your video to change it's battery and cleaned the ribbon contacts to fix the phone. I'm proud because this was the first phone ever that I had opened and repaired! I still have my OnePlus 5 as my second phone. Still works perfectly fine with no issues!

thanks a bunch for this video. I didn't need to replace anything, but the volumen button got bent by being dropped in a very unlucky way. the volume up button was permanently pressed, which, as you can imagine, is not an ideal thing. I was a bit scared of opening the thing up myself, but I felt comfortable following your instructions. I applied a little bit of pressure on the volume button from the inside and rectified it. Phone works perfectly again

Hey Zack, have you seen the jelly effect reports? They say it's because OP mounted the screen upside down. Could this be repaired by disarming the phone and flipping the display somehow? Or it's impossible?

Nice to see that the ports that will wear out hopefully not within 3 years but eventually are easily replaceable. Also that the battery looks fairly easy to replace as that will eventually wear out. Really with 8 GB of RAM your looking at a very long lasting phone with replaceability as long as you dont get it wet!
