I got the 7t for 100$ less, I could buy the 8 but with all the screen issues I heard, and being curved. I just did the decision to save money and get a more stable device like the 7t. I will sell to upgrade to 8t if it gets wireless charging, and if its affordable

I agree as well. Bought the 7T two weeks ago for 450 euro. Which is way cheaper then the 8 plus I hate the curved screen. And 5G is nowhere to be seen soon in my area so when the time comes I prefer to buy third gen 5G modem (rather then the first broadly available flagship chip with 5G) which will be more refined and will be integrated in the SoC for better everything.

I upgraded from my 6T a couple months ago and couldn't be any happier. Keeping a flat screen. 90 hz refresh rate is a nice bonus. Stereo speakers. The notch is slightly smaller. Couldn't be happier with it. I just had to get used to it being slightly narrower than the 6T.

I was about to buy the 7t a week before 8 came out... like I was at the "checkout" button, but I look at it one more time and I just couldn't ignore the big, black, glossy circle on the back. I purchased the 8 instead. That circle cost me $200. I mean, if they wanted stand out, instead of circle they should've made it a "+" symbol with all sensors in it.

The only problem with any Oneplus phone is the updates. They don't roll it out as soon as it's available in their official website. Those who don't have laptops know the struggle. Still, 7T is a beast when it comes to gaming and daily use. 👌🏻

@@amalthomas1081 I didn't say that they are slow in releasing new OTA updates. I just said that it's a bother flashing the OTA on websites to your phone if you don't have a laptop. The latest update was on December i think. Their website showed a February update, which was not officially rolled out to phones as we speak.

Just bought it to accompany my primary phone and I’m very excited to finally use my first oneplus phone. I think I won’t be blown away too much by the battery, speakers, display, and camera performance (I have my S20 Ultra for those). But overall, I’m impressed with the customisation options, frosted glass back, its colour, performance (for a 2019 phone with that price), biometric speed and accuracy, and there’s more to love. And yes, I can feel the difference of using 90 and 120 hz displays The shortcomings? Of course there will be some cons, and they are the camera system (especially for those telephoto and front camera), no wireless charging, no microsd card slot, no official ip rating, and more. But overall, I’m very happy so far.

I bought 7t for 150... Like new. Last month. I bought as a backup to pixel 4xl. I have the TMO variant. Unlocked. ...That said. I couldn't manage to really understand how anyone could say the 7t was smooth as or smoother running as pixel 4xl. That was until I finally decided to flash mine to international variant ridding the silly lacking and handicapping (now I notice) TMobile firmware ..The process was easy and painless minus having a bit of a scare that only turned out to be driver's needing updated before I started the MSM patched tool boot. And right after it bricks (purposely) at that point you can then unlock bootloader no token. The device was already unlocked this will not unlock sim but you can after. Anyway the driver's auto updated once I searched for them in device manager. Let pc find the driver's which was not what I was told. Which it still worked. Then flash the same flash all.bat. 2 times. Anyone ever want to try this I will answer any question I can and help if I am able at the time. I encourage anyone on this device whether you use TMO or not,...The phone literally flies now. I have no idea what TMO did to the firmware but now since I have been using Visible ran by Verizon towers, I had lte 4g standard like my pixel. Which I had no complaints. Not on that. But the phone now picks up LTE PLUS!! I'll take that. I ran speed test and got 50 to 80 down and 20 to 50 up before. Totally happy. But now I'm getting 50 to over 100 down and 20 to still 50 ish so far on 3 tests after. So there's that. I also used Global firmware. So I have 2 sim slots read. I need a dual sim tray but I don't plan yet on using 2. Just cool to know I can should the time come. This actually can be done in half an hour at most. Most of the time is waiting on the flashing. MSM tool. Also when typing in the cmd in adb you don't have to have a token from unlock code. You'll type just like pixel. Fastboot oem unlock. And no _critical either. I used the files found on MOB phones channel. If you are interested don't wait like I did. Hahah. I'm also planning to just keep my boot unlocked and run a custom ROM or two and back this one up. So nice to have a device again I own and didn't get TMO to make me wait on updates. Most don't use TMO but buy unlocked for Verizon and wind up having to still wait for TMO. Sad.

So I have a different take on this whole topic and I think that's because I own the OnePlus 8 pro. It's exquisite. It may not be a better deal, pound per pound, but if you want something in line with the best, it's insanely good for $1,000 compared to the $1400 Samsung or $1200 iPhone. That said, I'm always amazed by how invested into some of the older models this community is. Shows strong support for a company that really needs it to continue. I hear OnePlus is going back to making more affordable and economical phones, and while it saddens me that I won't be able to upgrade to a new flagship OnePlus anytime in the future, I'm excited to see how much value they can pack into a $5-700 phone in the future. I came from a Pixel 2 XL and got the OnePlus 7T once it was on sale. After all of the software updates I can surely say that Oxygen OS is amazing as the phone still feels just as fast as when I first turned it on. The only issue I've been having as of late is Chrome randomly freezing when I'm using it, but this is a widespread issue even on the OnePlus 8 line.

You can check the notification it does have ambient display but not always on, it's shows when you pick it up or tap. You can reply from lockscreen if you don't have any password protection.(not safe though).

I bought the regular Oneplus 8 and I absolutely love it, it's gonna be a while before my carrier gets 5G, I can definitely tell that the camera on the Oneplus 8 is a lot better than my old Oneplus 7 pro,

That is a budget phone. The price is around 25k in India I think so. It will not beat 7T
