Now that I've spent more time with the keyboard and stylus, I feel we can put more of a conclusion on the OnePlus Pad 2.

Well... not the COMPLETE conclusion though, as we still have to wait for the AI stuff to arrive. Jeez... This is getting complicated.

Still enjoying my OnePlus Pad 1 even though I didn't get a keyboard cover. This looks even more capable but surprised to not hear my #1 reason for choosing it which is the 7:5 aspect ratio. Basically somewhere between Surface 3:2 and iPad 4:3. I believe almost all other Android tablets are 16:10 which always feels weird to me to use as a tablet. But if you're using it more as a laptop replacement it's not such a big advantage.

I was wanting the latest iPad Pro for some mobile stuff, and wasn't considering an Android tablet, but Juan sold this to me. 😅 It's half the price and I'm not exactly an OLED display snob, so I'll survive with the grey-ish blacks just fine.

Great and interesting review. I never had a oneplus product, but after this video i am considering it. I just hate these kind of Keyboard covers... Back then, I broke a Surface 4 because it slipped from my knees as he magnet wasnt strong enough (same concept as this one). With my S6 it was the same problem... The magnets weren't strong enough and it always moved, so I had to improvise and fix it with mirror adhesive. I wish they would simply come up with keyboard solutions that actually attach to the tablet like a notebook.

I find Android to be a superior experience for watching KZbin and a lot of streaming content in general, HDR video. And in most cases better battery life, more portable... Etc .. my only reservation on this one might be that there's no 512 GB model and I assume no SD card slot. That's a little bit of a bummer because my current tablet tab S7 has 512 GB and SD card expansion if I need it. But even Samsung discontinued the 512 GB version of their 11-in tablets so I'm just going to ride out my Galaxy tab for a while.

I think that makes the most sense. A tablet should be flipped somewhere inbetween a phone and a laptop. As for the storage, it is a little limiting for sure. Especially after using the open. I thikn that's one of the bad areas of ecosystem. The idea that you'd use it with your phone, and that has MORE storage, doesn't quite sit right.

I am a Oneplus fan of its battery and charging tech. My oneplus 12 is my most recent device. My son got his i OnePlus Open... So lots of OnePlus here. Still haven't gotten one of their tablets. Glad you are spending quality time trying to figure out where this device can fit in. Your priorities are not mine (as you always say!) My recent cheap tab purchase leaned heavily towards sd card support and 512 gb storage. Since OnePlus didn't have that I saved even more cash this time around. Maybe another time I can get a little more of a Ferrari feeling with a oneplus rather than the slower truck type tablet I settled for.

It's the main thing I don't like about "ecosystem". You can totally see a decision made "if they have a phone paired to this, and can stream, why do they need more storage?"

I don't really agree with techies who say "once you go deep black (of OLED screens), you can't go back." 😂 I have an (originally) $500 6.8" OLED phone, and an 11.5" OLED tablet, but I don't really mind watching Netflix on my $120 8.4" LCD tablet. I actually prefer using that tablet for content consumption over my phone due to screen size. For the people who watch shows and keep thinking "I really wish I was watching this on an OLED screen," maybe you should be watching better shows instead? Demon Slayer is so engaging that when I watched it on my cheap tablet, it never even occurred to me to stop and switch to my OLED tablet. Don't get me wrong. I like OLED displays, but that doesn't stop me from enjoying content watched from an LCD screen.

Wish OnePlus made a charging dock for this it's my favorite feature on my pixel tablet I never have to worry about charging it especially when I need it like once or twice a day .

It doesn't spend much time on the charger. OP's top off pretty quick. Even for the large tablet battery.

While I do like what Samsung and OnePlus (and Google somehow) are doing with the tablets on Android, having phones with desktop mode and old gen laptops, especially mobile workstations that are getting skinnier without losing power, negates my need for one of those tablets. Also, Surface is still around in the case I must (like I MUST) have a touchscreen that also can take a pen. I think also the trend of having incomplete features that you can use already in the phones (even from their same brand) and the laptops don't help this kind of tablets, which is absurd at the prices they ask for.

@@LaczPro i own a cheap tablet on the side for voice recorder app for gaining evidence and photos. also call recorder apps dont work so speaker with second device recording stellar. also voice files alit smaller space than video recording evidence which is alit more useful on file management. im always carrying both my phone and tablet. the tsblet kind of like spy device. but legal done so. i use the samsung a8. pretty happy with it. especially the cost.

Got this for my daughters 5 birthday with the pen and she loves it it truly is the best android tablet I have used. Me and the mrs both on iPads and use the pencil but the pen on the one plus is great

I’m glad to see OnePlus continuing on with the Pad line, I liked my experience with the first one, but had some screen blur and some weird software issues so I sent it back. Kind of bummed to see they changed the screen size here, I liked the more iPad screen ratio of the last one (portrait mode with a video playing on top and a browser on the bottom was so nice). Hope Google keeps on supporting their tablets again, I really do like them.

My Tab S7 is still running, and still gets around my work easily. My boss cant even tell I'm working on my laptop except that the web camera is so much clearer and better.

It requires a LITTLE more work finding the apps and services that fit your workflow, but I've been able to switch up and go totally phone-based to get my work done if I need to. It's kind of liberating being able to shake up your services.

Then yeah, a good tablet might be the trick. Even going back an older gen would probably do you fine. Like, wait for the Galaxy Tab S10 and then shop sales on the S9 or the Oneplus pad 1.

Had mine since launch to go along with my OnePlus 12 and its been great. No complaints I replaced my Lenovo Duet 5 with this and this is alot smoother than that was. I haven't gotten the AI studio app yet I haven't gotten any updates on my pad 2 yet either in America.

Odd. I got one big update after launch, but I dont know if that was because we were on beta software or not. I'll be curious to see how Chrome is handled over the next year or two. I think we're due to see Chrome get merged into Android, and Android should get a proper desktop grade browser.

I prefer to use Touch ID on my phone and tablet (and windows hello on my laptop and pc) so I wish Oneplus had used Touch ID on their tablet. But this tablet still looks pretty solid. Since my next phone may be a Oneplus 12, their tablet is also high on my wish list.

I have this tablet. Generally I think it is a great tablet, quick and actually a very nice and very bright display. It is a bit heavy, but that’s ok. Compared to the iPads I have had I have found that the Edge rejektion is somewhat bad. When I hold the tablet is often triggers unwanted events. But what you get for the price is really unbeatable.

It depends on what you need? A surface will be a more capable computer, but getting closer to this price means an older Intel system. I MIGHT be writing a script about my Robo and Kala though, and how windows compares against this OnePlus...

Most people looking at this video would be familiar with the iPad and are looking at Android alternatives with a top of the line chipset and are unfamiliar with the state of Android in tablets. This video does not elaborate on the daily tablet usage but focuses on comparisons with a similarly priced Windows laptop. This video could have focused more on the features of Android and Oxygen OS to help potential buyers make an informed decision.
