Brandy did have infertility issues. She wanted to have kids but seeing Chilli being able to have kids, especially a daughter who looked painstakingly like her, caused her to have an argument with Chilli and she cut herself off from her. Chilli eventually called her for the first time in years in Bluey's Big Play. Also keep in mind that the last time Brandy saw her sister’s family was when Bluey was 2-3 and Bingo was a newborn.

Also, keep in mind that Chilli *also* had a baby issue (The Show, Sleepytime, Bedroom). That Chilli would have *two* babies while Brandy wasn't able to have any would have hurt enough to keep her away.

It’s worth remembering infertility and sterility are not the same. People who are infertile still can’t have kids; they just may struggle and need additional methods (e.g. IVF) to make it happen

Brandy was finally able to make her debut this late in the series to come and see Chilli, Bandit, Bluey, and Bingo. But it's also sad to realize that she has infertility despite the fact that she always wanted to have children of her own, and that was the main reason why she didn't come to see Chilli for so long.

It’s also hinted in Bluey’s Big Play, that Chilli and Brandy got into some sort of argument over it. In the play, when Bluey asks why they don’t see Brandy very often, Chilli says “ It’s complicated, sweetheart. Sometimes sisters start arguing and... just forget to stop.“

Some theorized that Bingo is actually Brandy's daughter, but I don't think that's the case why the latter was shocked to see that her youngest niece looks like her. Bingo just reminds Brandy how badly she wants to have children, and thinks that it's not meant to be.😔 I guess Chili's side of the family had some history of difficulties with baring children, (just an example) starting with the miscarriage Chili had before Bluey was born.

I think there's some ancillary media that mentions Chili and Brandy had actually gotten into a fight before she left. Canonicity issues aside, it's undeniable that fertility issues would've driven a wedge between the two because life just isn't fair sometimes.

@@adamgourley6412 My family just got to see the play this weekend, and I was absolutely not expecting them to bring in something as major as Brandy's and Chilli's relationship. [SPOILERS FOR "BLUEY'S BIG PLAY" AND MORE] Since we saw it after "Onesies" and "The Sign" had aired, you could hear the parents in the audience audibly gasp the first time Chilli mentions her (then) estrangement from her sister. And then a huge, involuntary "AWWWW" when Chilli calls Brandy at the end. It was actually really cool to see for the first time after those two episodes came out, since it gave that plotline in the play a ton of extra emotional weight that it probably wouldn't have had before.

Another episode with a very emotional feel and deep undertone to it, as we meet Chilli’s estranged sister Brandy, and learn why we haven’t heard of her until now. Maintaining a relationship with your family when they have kids and you’ve been struggling with fertility issues must be difficult and heartbreaking. I’m glad she and Chilli were able to reconcile by the end. On a more comedic note, Bingo already had her moments of chaotic behavior before, but Cheetah Bingo goes the extra mile.

Hi Tuna! My little man is four weeks old today! Sorry for not commenting on the recent stretch of videos, Junior and my daughter are just fine, but I had to go back to the hospital for a bit due to my blood pressure and I've also been busy as you might guess! I got spoiled on this one early, and I was kind of glad I was, because the reveal about Brandy's fertility struggles might have been tough on me with no lead-up.

There’s also some backstory for Brandy in Bluey’s Big Play (the live touring show), which is where we’re first introduced to the character of Aunt Brandy. In the play, Bluey and Bingo hide Bandit’s phone so that he’ll play with them, but Bandit gets Bingo to show him where his phone is by playing a game of Bingo being a “Bingo Detector”, which makes Bluey upset. A lot of the plot is about the relationship between big and little sisters and Chilli brings up Brandy in the discussion. It seems that besides Brandy’s longing for a child because her fertility issues, another reason why Brandy stayed away for 4 years (as you said, that’s just about Bingo’s age, so perhaps seeing Chilli having two children when she couldn’t was just too much for her) is that Chilli and Brandy ended up getting into an argument of some sort with each other. In Bluey’s Big Play, when Bluey asks Chilli why they haven’t seen Brandy for so long Chilli says “It’s complicated, sweetheart. Sometimes sisters start arguing and... just forget to stop.” By the end of the play, Bluey and Bingo make up and Chilli decides to reach out to Brandy and give her a phone call, which sets up this episode. The play was meant to be seen before you see Onesies since it sets it up. Bluey’s Big Play first started performing in Australia in 2020 whereas Onesies aired June 17 2022 in Australia. The same can apply for the rest of the world. For example, the play started touring in the United States in November 2022, where as Onesies debuted on Disney+ on July 13, 2023. Since then, it’s started touring more worldwide, first Canada from the United States, then the British Isles and more recently dates have been announced for later this year and into next year in locations like Singapore, the United Arab Emirates, Spain, France, and Luxembourg.If you have a chance I would recommend checking out Bluey’s Big Play. It’s quite a fun and delightful show, and like Bluey, it doesn’t feel tedious at all-contrary to what you might expect from a live stage show based on children’s TV. It just feels like an extended episode of the show. Show dates and times are available on the Bluey website if you want to check it out.
