No matter what folk believe or don't, priority #1 of all sentient beings is to recover their awareness from the media and internet attention seekers. By far the best way is using some of the techniques in Jason's video and practice regularly. As a minimum just use a higher level of non-judgemental awareness when watching your favourite polarizing opinion based shows and just watch without becoming engaged. You'll soon see through the nonsensical manipulation - in the same way as random thoughts appear and disappear when observed with awareness.

Good one Jason. It's so easy to see we are being manipulated; like gamblers in a O2-controlled casino being fed drinks regularly and given small $ wins on an intermittent schedule of reinforcement. We all fall for it to some extent. But we must remember to think for ourselves and not become puppets, propelled by the divisive either/or, +/- tricks. Best response is definitely to look to nature, animals, plants, etc which are inherently impartial & dispassionate. The saying: "Rx: Equanimity = Moderation" fits well here. Thank you so much my friend! 👍☯🕉

Ive never seen you so passionate, Jason. Because it's so rare, it was very impactful. I am convinced that there are only 3 things we control (1) What we pay attention to (2). How we interpret our experience and (3.) How we respond to our experience. If you don't focus on these 3 things, you do not have free will and are merely being manipulated while operating on automatic pilot. I want to hear more about the 3rd meditation practice (peripheral field)

I have a few podcast I enjoy. Yours is at the top of the list. Unfortunately every channel I like is challenged by the Algorithms. Your right, generally social media now feeds dear, greed, social justice insanity. Here in the USA, podcast created by ex gangsters and killers has no problem building views. I can only hope their will be a change in consciousness or at least an interest in positive messages.

Me too we can't run from life but we can let go - You know In the Tao this is a form of brief meditation and I've experienced a sense of heaven on earth letting go Somehow just about the only quote in the Bible that says ' and a child shall show the way' is true I just had to comment we don't embrace life in passing anymore Getting a bit social is understanding of life and balance as we go along well for me even if people say I am wrong (well if not scary)

I've written a note 81- Enlightenment isn't a state we attain, it's one we revert back to.(know that you aren't bound to form, that even freedom limits) 84- Since birth we're insisted on conceptually learning, our view now obstructed from being, knowing arises, an infinite search. Our conditioned state affects our natural ability. Enlightenment, now obscured.(In knowing, it's infinite. while our capacity is not.) 117- Most see a right & wrong (separating this from that), instead I see a spectrum blurring lines. ("It helps no one to be reductive">X.R.A)

So many Buddhist "temples" in NYC where I live have lectures on social justice and gender ideology. Big red flag. But great video. People are more unhappy than ever, yet they defend the world we currently live in as something great and progressive.

Great video Jason and very ‘enlightening’. My cell phone is mostly switched off all the time except when it is needed. Any social media I use is mostly to keep up with certain personal interests, family and friends. Politics and causes are very dualistic and I rarely keep up with the news. After the headlines depression can set in quickly, if I took notice of it, so I revert to something. I would be very interested in knowing of the various meditation techniques. May the new year be a happy one for you. Blessings and love sent.

Idolatry! Whatever one chooses to identify as or with, that is a form of idolatry. Rules, like the Ten Commandments, were expressed for a reason! Now the error of history passing them along is the concept of "obey or be punished". The punishment for idolatry is you will be stuck in samsara, you will suffer. You can never realize true freedom. No one should judge anyone who is stuck, which truly are the vast majority of us. Compassion is knowing in your heart everyone wants to realize freedom no matter how messed up they seem. Everyone is here to learn.

We do not know to be social anymore Nor how to NOT Measure one another These of themselves kill that we are all different and that we all can't measure life period If your mind is aware of Infinity then why would you be serious about measuring life this much? And if you let go of things life could only get better for the self and others because we are limited Of ourselves Thanks for this one great*

Hey Jason love the video. Maybe some ideas for future videos; a video on micro cosmic orbit practice (if you have any experience on this meditation practice). Also a video on Thích Quảng Đức who was the monk who set himself on fire during the Vietnam War but stayed still without showing any signs of pain due to his meditation. I'm curious if you know how he was able to do so and what meditation practice he did and how long that would take to get there. I know you have an extensive knowledge in meditation so I'd love to hear your take on these!

I've started noticing the mind steering of the media. I knew msm was doing it, but ca 2,5 years ago I became aware that the alternative media was also doing it while watching it. It felt like a tug of war, like both sides were controlled and purposely creating hatred, diversion and polarization. Then I noticed the same with awakened and/or (semi) spiritual awakened youtubers, again the mind steering. Some content providers like news channels are hard core, but others like spiritual or informative channels the steering can be very subtle. They almost do it the same way politicians (that portray to be the good guys) do it, they discuss one subject and slide other information not concerning the subject in their speech. It seems all innocent, but when you listen closely the other information that seems to be irrelevant is the part that is important but because the subtle inbringing ends up in the subconscious mind programming your world views. We are watching plays on tv and the internet and at the same time we are being played.

Hi Jason. You mention sometimes how things have changed since 2010. There is also a term that is frequently used since then, known as "The new normal". It seems like something has happened since 2010. What has happened since then? Well, interestingly and coincidentally the year 2012 happened, and the Ancient Mayan prophecies of December 21 2012 being some kind of end to an era. I'm not an expert on it at all, but it really does feel like things have changed since 2012. I think the Ancient Mayans might have been onto something very important, and I think a lot of what we're seeing could possibly be related to it. The Ancient Mayans seem to have had a calendar and astrological system of vast eras of time very similar to the Ancient Indian teachings of the Yugas that you talk about. Interestingly, Native North, Central, and South Americans, including the Ancient Mayans, if traced all the way back are descendants of peoples from India who traversed the world thousands of years ago and somehow managed to make it to the Americas, and then establish the Native American Indian societies, including the Ancient Mayan civilization.
