Part of why the Marines don't change the dress blues has to do with history. Many parts of the uniform and its cut relate to true historical combat events. Example the high collar around the neck. The uniforms in the field had those to protect from sword cuts to the neck.

they are so wrong. the pinks and greens were ONLY an officer's uniform. also during WWII they didnt hvae pins and patches all over the place back then. the enlisted had an olive brown coat and shirt and a mustard green is pants. the crush cap was ONLY worn by pilots who wore them under their headsets and and the belt on the jacket was ONLY worn by the Army Air Corp/Army Air Forces...

Air Force uniform has definitely gotten better over the last 15 years. It used to REALLY look like a mix between airline uniform and a leisure suit. Space Force isn’t bad. It's still the same uniform. The picture in the video is just a photoshop of the new Army Pinks and Green uniforms to make it blue. Ironically the original USAF uniforms did look like that. Back in 2007, we had the dress greens. We didn't dare cross AR 670-1. We all sent ours into a local sewing shop where three Korean women did our medals (we deployed a lot so we had a lot of medals). Plus I hated answering the regs for the promotion board.

As a non military person and a civvie . The Navy dress whites ( be it of whatever nation that has Naval Dress whites ) are the best uniforms I have ever seen. So pure and pristine. I absolutely love seeing those dress whites. Again, its just my opinion. The USMC Dress blues are quite badass as well

While pristine, they are such a pain to wear. One wrong move spells doom, and you feel like a walking glowstick. For lower enlisted I prefer the blues, they still have all the buttons on the trousers that make a box-like shape and give it that older look and the dress shoes blend a bit better with the darker uniform. But dang, chief and officer whites are so sharp

As an early pre 9/11 Marine my favorite uniform was Marines cammies with black spit shinned boots in garisson environments. Crispy starched razor sharp creases, tights sleeves, and super shined black boots. It took effort to look sharp on a daily basis.

Best part about the Marine dress blues is every detail has a reason behind it. The EGAs on officer blues don't have Cuba because in the Bay of Pigs only enlisted Marines participated and the collar is a type of call back to the "Leatherneck" nickname. It's meant to imitate the leather protection Marines used to wear around their necks. The red trim is supposedly to represent a time when enlisted Marines would take red coats from the British and turn them inside out and only the edges would appear red. Officers could buy their own uniforms so they don't have the red trim. On the tops of officer covers there is a Quatrefoil that became common so the lookouts on tops of ships could identify who their officers were.

The red stripe on the trousers of Marine dress blues is to commemorate the courage and tenacious fighting of the men who fought in the battle of Chapultepec in September of 1847. Only NCOs and officers have the red stripe.

My dad being in the Navy for 20 years that uniform brings some nostalgia when comes back home clean as ever still looking how he looked when he left with a smile and me taking off his socks after a long day so this specific picture of the white one brings a smile on a face and basically Filipinos would give their family the best lives so im thankful that i grew up with a dad in the Navy

I actually like the Army pinks and greens just as much as the Marine dress uniform. I think it only looks a little costumey cuz it reminds me of historical uniforms and I just have to get used to associating it with the modern Army too

USMC has the same service unfirom which is actually worn more than the dress uniform. We just never got rid of it unlike the Army who's trying to bring it back. That's why it looks costumey.

The biggest pull that made me consider the Marine Corps rather than following my dad into the Navy was the Marines dress uniforms. If I could had my job guaranteed in my contract like Navy and Army does, I just might have. BZ to everyone whose worn one of these Uniforms (and our Coastie siblings left out of the video). As a Canadian infanteer, I can whole heartedly say the marines really do live up stigmas and stand out from the rest. Seeing marines as a kid and how hardy and disciplined they are made me join my army. I love those dress blues😂

Probably further back. High collar styles essentially dates back to the WWI days. That said, the Army ASUs are technically unchanged since WWII as well.
