Adding to the "originally a spin-off" thing, it's why the game has the "Live Selection" feature, multiple endings, random item and enemy placement and a guy like Nemesis in the first place; to give fans a bit more to do until the REAL Resident Evil 3 came out, and to add further variety to each playthrough. Also why it's only one scenario instead of two. Additionally, the ACTUAL reason it became Resident Evil 3 was because Capcom were worried that RE0 and CODE:Veronica being N64 and Dreamcast exclusives plus the original RE3 being delayed for two years would make the brand less profitable without a major PlayStation release soon; as you can probably guess, the old RE3 became RE4. The first version of which became Devil May Cry.

Most people probably know this, but you CAN kill nemesis every time he appears despite being really damn hard You even get a special reward if you're on hard mode each time you kill him: - 2 parts for assembling an exclusive magnum - 2 first aid spray cases (only way to obtain it in hard mode) - 2 parts for assmebling a exclusive shotgun - the assault rifle (only way to obtain it in hard mode)/a box that grants any weapon infinite ammo (IF you are on your second playtrough and you already obtained the assault rifle the previous run)

Might be cause I didn't know what I was doing and wasn't playing for this one, but the nemesis encounters in this look so much more on formula than the ones in the remake. Feels like that one didn't have enough space he could feasibly chase you through, so they tried balancing it by making him pretty much impossible to avoid hits from. But here, if you're confident enough in your path, it's not easy but you feel the tension and you know when you're going to get hit

The reason Nemesis is able to evolve [even though he's a T-variant not a G-variant] is because canonically he and Birkin-G fought, both suffering severe damage and Birkin-G infecting him with the little G-worm parasite [as we know he was trying to find a compatible host]; which in turn combined with the T-variant, resulting in Nemesis being able to transform more throughout the game, or else he would've just stayed the same. Das some good story tellin' right chyah.
