Yes, the humor is a bit sharper than it needs to be sometimes, but I think it conveys all the more that Rachel's pleasant demeanor is the same false face many women put up each day lest asserting boundaries get them fired, hurt, or killed. Her barbs at Nish are the strain and rage that builds up behind those masks and tends to unleash around people who don't deserve it.
