Hello there. What must you say if they ask what are your strengths and weaknesses? Practical ones please. Thank you in advance 🤗
@eslwithaz62013 жыл бұрын
Hi Juliet. So you obviously want to mention strengths that are beneficial for online teaching- patience, attention to detail, dedication... etc. Don't just list, rather elaborate on each. When speaking about weaknesses, try to highlight a weakness that can also be perceived as a strength. Eg. "My attention to detail sometimes affects my time management, because of this I can improve on prioritizing my tasks." I hope this helped and gave you a better idea on how to handle such questions. 😊 All the best...

Hi Az, thank you for these videos, they really help us prepare for this type of work to come. If your preference is to teach adults (as is my experience) and that's your intended focus, is it more difficult to find work? Might you have to teach kids first, and with experience then "qualify" to teach adults or could it just be the luck of the draw, with whatever jobs are available at the time?
@eslwithaz62012 жыл бұрын
Hi, Sharad! Teaching kids doesn't qualify one to teach adults. In fact, I'd say that teaching kids is harder work and requires more effort and theatrics. If teaching adults is your preference, ideally you should only apply to companies with adult students. However, it just isn't that easy. My advice would be to apply everywhere... and honestly, the reality is that you are going to get rejected by most companies. Don't take it personally. This industry is just extremely saturated. Wherever you do get accepted, you can pick and choose from there. All the best! 🎈

Hi Az! Thank you so much for these videos, I am learning a lot! What should I say if they ask if I have any ESL or teaching online experience but I do not have any?
@eslwithaz62013 жыл бұрын
Hi Suzanne! Great question. Be completely honest. Respond with "I don't have any online experience, BUT....." Emphasize that "BUT" and mention ANY offline experience that you may have (childcare, homework/ exam prep, kindergarten assistant teacher, babysitting... etc.)
