Dr Chee has sacrificed so much for Singapore. He could have easily just kept his mouth shut and continued at his cushy academic job; he would be a millionaire by now living a upper class lifestyle. Yet he chose not to ignore his conscience. As a result, he was sacked from his job (by his boss who was a PAP MP), sued into bankruptcy, jailed multiple times, and had his name dragged through the mud for decades. Despite this, he has never stopped fighting for the vulnerable and exploited members of our society. This man is a true patriot.

Actually an interesting fact found, many singaporean who has less than $300 cash balances in account for decades, the saving balances in cash reaches 10 year high to 2-3k in 2 months when SIngapore Pool is closed during circuit breaker period even when they suffer some sort lost of income. With gov fund and children allowance, even with their loss of salary income, their saving ironically increases just with the stop of 4D, this shows 4D addiction is a much serious contribution than COVID loss of income to let many of them remain poor and unproductive. Giving cash to such people wouldn’t help their situation but a waste of taxpayer money, I hope ppl could see this serious gamble addiction of many singaporean. For the real in need, do not give all in cash try to help direct eg, groceries voucher, reduce utilities bill, delay mortgage payment, teach people how to fish than to give them fish, help those who want to help themselves and to help from root cause of their problem, I hope something could be done to let family members ban their family members who have 4D obsession to buy from 4D House. I know ppl (even housewife or retirees) who spend $300-500 per trip to 4D house, 1 week 3 times, a month expenses on that 2-4K, can’t control and spend all cents (Govt support, salary, children allowance or family members money) on it.

There is something I simply do not understand. The PAP can suspend GST till 2021, give budget, create jobs ( but not sure how many jobs is for Singaporean?). But can the PAP take into consideration by reducing the employee CPF contribution by 5 percent and the cap amount for the retirement rate to be reduce? The cost of living is high, and increment of salaries might not able to pace up with the highly cost of living. And due to the previous CB, there are people who have to relook for new job, unpaid leave, and so on. Those shops and company that have to cease their operating during CB, might need time to regain their losses to their profits or revenue, might not able provide a good increment to their employees, some might not even have the increment of salary. Worst still for those who had lost the job due to this convid 19.

Voters who stay in Bukit Batok, please vote wisely, intelligently and carefully. Your vote is very important to Singapore's Future and as well as your children's/grandchildren's Future. The rich become richer, the poor become poorer. GST going to rise to 9%. After the election, all will rise again as per normal or even more. Transport, Electricity, Water, Food, School Fees, Medical, Income taxes, etc. as the PAP is now bleeding. All will increase by many more than ever before. But Salaries not even rise at all. 😡😓😢😰

Points 4&5 are interesting and it is good efforts indeed. But I do not agree that PAP is useless. We have seen efforts and changes in the right directions..education, skills training. GST is a wealth distribution tool and the Govt recognizes it needs to be dealt with carefully. But any tax removed is hard to place back later. Beware. Anyway..each of our vote is sacred. Respect it. If you have a bonus..do you reward someone for his year of good work or do you give it to someone who wants to try and because he tries hard? It is up to the individual. But please consider the right things.

Yes #1 - What is your plan after 2021? If we vote you in now and there is no plan when u r in parliament, then why do i want to vote u? Yes #2 and #3 - Only 5bn? Really? Is this sustainble given that we are an ageing population? Also, if ppl can use the money to invest, whatif the busines fails? Is it going to be compensated? If we can get money for being retrenched, who else wants to work? How much are we talking about in total for Yes #1, #2 and #3? And who is funding it? Yes #4 - I dont think this is a fair statement cos if the govt doesnt care, I think we will be dead by now and they no need to think of so many schemes to help the ppl. No - I also think we shld not aim for 10m cos it will probably be overcrowded Need to have more concrete plan that u saying especially on money matters - where there is output, there needs to be an input somewhere. Yes#1 why do you think he has no plan after 2021 when he hasn't said anything yet ? You put words into his mouth Yes#2 #3 people will still rather work than getting retrenched because people receive a one time benefit only getting retrenched, while working for a salary last you decades as long as you are not retrenched . You get way more money working than retrenched, It's not good to get retrenched. The benefits one getting after retrenched to invest in business, should subject to government and government professional analysts for approval, it will not be compensated if failed, this is one way it can be done. Otherwise he should only received a non-investment small sum of benefit for retrenchment. Money will of course come from the government, the amount of money that the government collects from road tax, gst, erp, income tax, and even earned from using cpf as investment, is much more than you think, you believe these money should not have a part with you even after you die? If you think you don't want anything to do with these trillions of money, even after you die, and even nothing to do with your family and kids after they die, then by all means vote PAP, In this way I tell you you let the country keep the money even after you all die, is really a senseless way of living your life.

By then, he is already in the parliament (by people who votes him in) so why would I be convinced to vote him when there is no concrete plan? Yes #2 - Yes u may be right that people would prefer to work. But that is exactly how the govt is helping the people right? There are services provided by the govt to help these people to find jobs n social services to subsidise and provide some income in the meantime. And u just iterate my entire point on the money part. It is not free. When he promises all these things, the money is like u say, funded from the taxes and investments from CPF, which is the same source as today but yet he wants to cut taxes like gst (which by the way i don't totally diagree with stopping the gst for now but it cannot be 0%). And if we really were to go ahead with his proposal, people who pay more taxes, etc might feel disgruntled on why they should feed the leeches (not saying all, but there will bound to be such people) which may create social issues. The reserves are like ur savings, it is used for rainy days like now and the govt are able to come out with schemes to help us. Ultimately, a plan proposed has to be sustainable and feasible. (By the way...all along I felt that retirement age to withdraw CPF shld not be extended because although is true that we are an ageing population, cos at the end of the day, 1. That is our money as well, 2. Not very convinced that I will live until that old and 3. Even if I do, not necesary that I can use it to do whatever I like, for example, travel)

@@bonitacloset I share your view that GST cannot be 0%. We could PROBABLY temporarily reduce it till 2021, but it cannot be 0%. GST is just part of the equation of a balance sheet, Got to see what are his matrixs used to achieve THIS. Absolute 0% doesn't make sense. As for the point 2 you mentioned, I believe CSJ did share something along the line at a different video that in order to qualify for retirement benefit, he or she would have to actively seek re-employment opportunity. And that the retrenchment benefits are only a short term solution to help these to tide thing over. At the moment I can't find this video as reference.

I feel that his passion deserved to be paid off. I will just give a constructive feedback for his 1st yes. Suspending GST hike till 2021 is creating more uncertainty and increase income disparity . This is not in flavour with the current climate of turbulence. One e.g is Malaysia recent 0 GST where there is clear winners and losers. You also do not want too much people rushing out to shop where COVID is still here. I do understand he wants to help the lower income group. Income distribution and giving tangible necessities such as food is better. FYI, there are a lot of food wastage in SG - better reallocation of food is needed

All candidates and parties (including PAP) are not practical. Every candidates are just trying to win votes to get into parliament or remain in power. Is SDP crazy to pay out 18 months of retrenchment benefits. if an Employer need to retrench 20% staff, he will retrench choose 2 low productivity or non performance staf among the 10 staff. I am sure employer will not retrench those who can perform and are high productivity. So if this person is low productivity or non performing, why must GOV use tax payer to pay them. Why should GOV use tax payer money to give money to retirees. They have CPF and they children should support them. I had seem many people shouting poor and drinking Starbuck and eating at Food court and taking GRAB. why do you think PMEB drive GRAB because Singaporean want to enjoy live and don't save. My colleage just got his bonus in April and he spend it buying a new ipad and a brand case when he knew how bad the market is. If he don't have money to dspend or got retrench, why should GOV pay him for 18 months? to buy more brand goods? Workers party is shouting for 24 months parent leave for new born which i think is in directly telling employer not to hire female who just got married without children. or just hire them and 6 monthly contract and renew as and when. Do you know employer will have to pay 13 month salaries for each employee new born. 6 months for the months, and 6 months for the temp to cover her work and duties when she is on parent leaves and 2 weeks before and 2 week after her leave. and that is 13 months, 1 year salaries. which employer would dare to hire female employee who are married without children. all these Manifesto from workers party and SDP are just unpractical things the citizen would like to have but not practical. As for PAP, they can plan but long term planning that take 2 to 3 years to plan. They are not good at crisis like when a riot happen in Little India or like now COVID 19. They keep changing their plans on the safe entry and not strongly enforcing it. Even SGH is not ensuring people scanning out for safe entry. I am not sure its the Minister or the Civil Servants but the Civil Servants are definitely dragging the PAP down. PAP is giving a student a laptop, what about the company who need to buy a laptop for their staff to work from home. All these are extra expenses for company. Why GOV is not using the $93 billion to help company. Is the 4G team really ready???
