Online workshop Heluo Lishu: Life Hexagrams from the Book of Change

The Yijing, the Chinese Book of Change, started as a divination system, and this is how most readers of the book still use it. Hexagrams and their components, along with the text that accompanies them, are interpreted for matters concerning health, wealth, management, relations, property and so forth. But through the centuries the system was connected to almost all aspects of Chinese culture: Chinese astrology, Feng Shui, Chinese Medicine, art - these were all influenced by the Book of Change and the numerous kinds of philosophy that were found in it. The connection with Chinese astrology led to the so-called Heluo Lishu 河洛理數 system of life hexagrams:
"The Principles and Numbers of the He River Map and Luo River Book."
Which is the topic of a new and exciting course. Heluo Lishu is a book and system from the Ming dynasty (1368-1644) in which your Chinese horoscope, your bazi 八字, is converted to two hexagrams from the Yijing. These hexagrams are said to explain the groundwork of your personality, the untainted first layer that forms the foundation of who you are. From these hexagrams yearly, monthly, and daily hexagrams are extracted, each telling you something about a certain period in your life.

Can't wait to order your book in english! Congrats on the release! Need to clear my stacked plate of Yis 1st, which will only help when I get to ur work. Very exciting seeing u bust out Master Alfred Huang's Complete I Ching, my 1st. Since it's been recognized that the 8 Bagua / The Yi is foundational to Chinese culture / philosophy itself, wouldn't it be most accurate to say its a Divination txt of philosophy / life, rather than what some claim as ?

Well, in origin it is a divination book and not much else. Through the centuries it has been turned into a philosophical masterpiece, but that doesn't change what it originally was. A hammer is still a hammer, no matter what you do with it.

@@YiTubeChannel Very true that the Yi began as a divination txt and that it latter evolved into a philosophical system. Considering that the origin of the Yi are FuXi's 8 Bagua, which is the very framework inseparable from the Yi & is the direct basis of all the later philosophical, cosmological, & cultural, prove that the Yi is philosophical from start to finish? At least in theory & according to the Chinese themselves. Of course not scholarly verified since we don't have direct records predating the earliest Chinese writings, which are Yi divinations. So verifiably it at least started with the ZhouYi, but we know there are older Yi systems that are mentioned in early documents but lost in time. It's amazing how as more time goes by Chinese legend gets proven right. The track record is good, but def not into assuming everything said. Praying some more lost treasures unveil as time most forward. & it would be amazing to see your contributions in the analysis! So far they are not yet... Shang De.... keep sacred China safe!!!
