I must be one out of 5,000 because it seemed I figured this out very early in life since I do consciously insure that I flex my leg and knee when walking. When I was 17 years old I stupidly tried out for varsity football and hurt my right knee to the point where I had to have Meniscus surgery. I think this may have been where I became aware of my knee position when walking. It just made sense to keep my knee flexed to reduce shock. I am now in my sixties and have minor knee pain when jumping down from a height and rarely when walking.

Thank you for the helpful advice. I was surprised about the foot strike. A while ago, my psyiotherapist told me to strike with my heel first and went to great pains to teach me how to do this. I have now mastered this incorrect method. 😉 Starting today I am going to follow your advice in the hope of reducing my knee pain. Thanks again for all you have shared over the years.

Do you think this will help me? I have knee arthritis and my doctor told me that I need surgery! I don’t want to do a surgery so he suggested me to do an injection with hyaluronic to help me with the pain! He also suggested that I shouldn’t walk cause I’ll hurt it more, I’m so confused cause I thought that exercise and walk will do good...I don’t know what to do! Please help
@MrsSheffield Жыл бұрын
Take a look at your diet first if you want to reverse the arthritis. Eat more whole foods, more alkaline foods, you can take collagen supplements in addition to a better diet. Do “low-impact” strengthening exercises, long walks can irritate the knees/hips if you already have arthritis there, so search up low-impact exercises for hips/knees. You can also apply castor oil wraps around your knees once or twice a day for at least an hour.
@BobandBrad Жыл бұрын
Before having surgery and injections, please take a look at these videos and do some of the exercises for a few weeks to see if they can help you avoid the surgery: www.youtube.com/@BobandBrad/search?query=knee%20arthritis Best of luck!

But I'm still kicking it and I worked out for 45 years and wait lifting. And I still watch your videos anyway to get this little hints to try to stretch out things I got scoliosis and my stomach muscles are being pulled over to the left side to its like a nightmare.🎉

My ballroom dance teacher calls this way of movement where the leg and foot strikes before the body, the zombie kitten." She has two cats that put their paws under doors and other places like that. She cautions us to move our bodies at the same time as our limbs.

Dear Bob, Brad & Mike, outstanding as usual. One suggestion, think about wearing WHITE socks. Go watch a video of Michael Jackson, the ones where he does the moonwalk. He wears WHITE socks and it makes his fancy footwork more visible to the audience. Just like you wear pants with WHITE stripes, WHITE socks will make your excellent content even more effective because the position of your feet will be more visible. I hope this suggestion is taken in the spirit it is I tended, to make excellent content t even MORE excellent.😊

I’m in need of urgent help for my husband. He went to a chiropractor April 2021 and now he is left very contorted. We live in the UK and are happy to travel to the US. His life consists of lying face down. He walks mostly on his toes, his left side is pulled down from the waste. His throws his arms in the arm for balance sometimes. He struggles to sit down or walk any distance. All MRI, CT, X-rays, bloods, genetics are all showing nothing to see here. To me it looks like a anterior pelvic tilt plus a lateral shift.

I really suggest NO chiropractor. They shove your bones around and can cause serious damage when you're already in bad shape. I have scoliosis, and went to chiropractor in the past. Try to get a second opinion from another orthopedic doctor. Also, request referral for a pain specialist. I hope he improves. ❤

Humans have different opinions and with all the information and things we have learned and actually tried and tested, we do not agree with your physical therapist who told you that. We wouldn't be able to diagnosis what caused your bad back since we haven't seen you personally, but we would doubt that would've been the reason. However, just like in most things in life, there are differences of opinions. We stand behind what we have thoroughly looked into and we would never intentionally give bad or wrong advice. We practice everything we teach and it has all worked for us as well as our patients thus far! Best of luck!
