@Bob&Brad Hey fellas, I learned recently of a study that was done a while back on patients with knee osteoarthritis, where they took castor oil in two capsules, three times a day and it helped their pain and mobility! Since reading that I started taking it myself but only twice a day and I've got to say after the past month, my knees do move a lot easier! Just wanted to pass this gem along so maybe you could add that to your list of advice! Thanks for everything you all do! God bless all y'all and your families with a beautiful Christmas. 🙏♥️🌲

Thanks! Am trying to avoid a double knee replacement. Just got more cortisone shots this morning. The surgeon is still recommending the replacements, for which I am not yet ready. I've dealt with diet and weight loss and activating my glutes more when walking. But these tips are great for me to try now.

Cortisone shots Will destroy your cartilage. Better try PRP.
@patriciamercurio7741Ай бұрын
@@VTVT1306What is that?
@VTVT1306Ай бұрын
@@patriciamercurio7741 blood is taken out of your arm and put into a machine. The remaining plasma is injected into the knee . It slows down the process of osteoarthritis. PRP.

PRP usually aren't covered by insurance and are pricey ( where I live). Check your insurance plan; maybe they will cover costs.. or they may be less expensive where you live.
@VTVT1306Ай бұрын
@ I pay €150 per injection, and had about twenty of them in the last three years. I think they are worth every cent of them. Yes, insurance won’t acknowledge them . They rather pay for destroying cortisone shots.

My surgeon said arthritis in the knee is the same thing as a meniscus tear. I was bone on bone, and he said I was a candidate for a partial knee replacement. I am glad I got it done, but it is a long healing process. Painful to do the physical therapy, but I know it will be worth it in the long run.

excellent video again guys - thankyou so much -Good note on the winter boots thing, and something for people with arthritis and fibromyalgia to note - changing your shoes - ouch. so treat that like an exercise because those things DO weigh alot Also the heel strike , i find it so frustrating that alot of shoes actually encourage you to do that . I walk barefoot in my house and backyard all the time. I used to dance so i have body reminders of walking properly that way- but for those who don't check out really simple belly dance exercises; they train you to use your legs and feet properly as does Qi Gong.

😂 “Walk with your hands on your buttocks, like you normally would.”😅 But, seriously, I started doing squats while I brush my teeth every evening, years ago. Two minutes. I was told I could have a knee replacement, but I was too young. The squats do the job! If I slack off, my knee pain(arthritis) returns. No knee replacement needed!

@AlphaGeekgirlАй бұрын
What two different problems are you talking about? If you are talking about arthritis and bone on bone usually they occurred together. It is very common for most people over the age of 65 to have Bone on Bone, but it doesn’t necessarily mean that you will always have pain. Some people go through their entire life with arthritis and bone on bone and do not experience any pain .

I have knee pain for over 6 months now gave me 2 cortisol shots, nearly got hit by a car and now it hurts more... got a xray done found nothing, got a bed side ultrasound done at a sports medicine doctors office done found fluid build up but he doesn't know what is going on. I got a special ultrasound done at mayfair a diagnosist place yesterday and just waiting on the results. I also have a small bone spur in the foot of the same leg...so walking is quite terrible to say the least... exercises like sit to stand they want me to do but I can't without severe pain.

Review their knee pain playlist videos till you find one that fits your situation. Or see a good physical therapist. While many doctors have Pooh-poohed my request for PT, I’ve had amazing results for my many issues. I have several neurological conditions that might have otherwise caused me to end up bed bound or using a walker, instead I’m quite active.

Thx ! I’m on my feet all day long, & suddenly, at 64, I begin waking up with knee & hip pain these last couple of weeks. The one thing different? I haven’t been able to carry my 42oz water bottle on me all this time. So, I’ve only been drinking maybe a quart or two a day, instead of my regular two gallons of water per day. Doesn’t help that it’s 80°F here.

Can I identify with this episode. Two big problems I had with severe knee arthritis in my left leg and moderate in my right, were thus. First, and likely foremost, mental. "Pity poor me." Which led to number two, this stuff hurts. It hurt to stand. It hurt to start to walk. It hurt to get in and out of a car. So ... one does it less. Which, of course, makes it hurt more when doing it. Thus see yet again, "Pity poor me." Guess the outcome. Or outcomes. Fast forward. Do these exercises. I could pick out most of them of variations thereof that we do in an aerobics class (age appropriate, I'm 71), at a senior center. I walk there about half a mile and back carrying a 20 pound or so backpack that has my weights and mat). Now to the benefits. "Pity poor me" was replaced by, "It's good to be active" me. Out and about. It hurts only slightly to do the things I mentioned. "Use it or lose it" pertains. It's not just about longevity, but quality of life. Positive, upbeat, work at it. The rewards aren't obvious at first. Life is unfair. It's hardest at the start. And yeah, some days it's a slog. Most days, not. If you watch these guys (and I have for some time), they are onto something. Maybe one key is physical therapy is in a sense mental therapy. Get up. Get moving. Your body, your world will thank you. In turn, enjoy. You earned it. Be happy!

That you can’t beat the race against father time… everybody gets old eventually. If I could only do one thing out of this entire list, it would be to maintain a healthy body weight. It’s simple physics all right a close second would be drinking water. I find it amusing that knee pain from the result of being fat and sitting on your ass for 30 years is going to be fixed by that same person all of a sudden adopting a healthy diet with exercise and stretching and stick with it to see even incremental benefit
