I noticed in the Josiah one that the clip with the knife MIGHT have been shot in two different videos. At the beginning of it you can clearly see that the knobs on the stove are set to off, but then near the end when the pan is back on the burner the burner is red under it, meaning it was somehow turned on - or he's got an even bigger problem than a ghost.

Having worked at a Dollar General for about a year, i can tell you that layout of the camera setup and the security system UI is 100% spot on. It cannot be tampered with in any way, and as far as I know, recordings are saved locally or through a server used by the Dollar General company. So theres no way to extract, edit or tamper with footage. You could definitely use more conventional means to play a trick like that, but its very hard to do without the right equipment and Dollar General is very strict about bringing in outside equipment in that doesnt belong to the company. As far as I can tell, its definitely legit.

Ben, take another look at Josiah Worley's knife clip. When he shows the stove top it has a red saucepan and the moving frying pan and a glass pot lid. At the end, after he shows the knife block, the stove top has a red polkadot kettle where the saucepan was, a baking tray where the glass lid was and the element turned on with a saucepan on it where the frying pan was.
