Absolutely mesmerizing, what a gorgeous trip! I made a similar creek crawl by myself this week at my grandparents property - hiked up the road about a mile and walked the creek back for my first rockhounding trip in months. So healing for the soul to be immersed in nature and admiring not just the pretty rocks but everything nature has to offer. My grandpa sold an easement on his property to the state of Washington department of fish and wildlife and they dug up an historic creek bed to make a fry sanctuary for the sockeye salmon that spawn there - my lucky day. I found a fist-sized square chunk of jaspagate with a white calcite crystal cube growing in the center and massive (bigger than my head) chunk of jasper with a weird agate-like formation on the top. I've found jasper previously with weird crust formations and this time I found a huge hunk of blueish chalcedony vein that has the same markings/striations. I also came home with what I've always called "dragon eggs" but are actually just fun little egg-shaped nodules of basalt riddled with calcite and occasionally pyrite. So fun to make our own summations of what's going on geologically in every area we visit. Your videos help fuel my fever, endless thanks again to you (and Benny) for helping reignite that flame. I've gleaned so much new info watching your videos and the videos you suggest, and that little prick of envy I feel every time you guys pick up a good one just makes me wanna get back to it all the more!

Unfortunately mainly landscaping rock beds but they are nice because they are washed off and laid out. All the pits around here have signs that say “No agate hunting” at the entrance. 😤 Farm fields are still good but you have to be there at the right time of year and get permission. Or rivers. The guy who owns the agate shop in Grand Marais MN said he gets most of his agates from a few people. A couple guys do AC work on industrial rooftops and walk around with buckets on their spare time picking up the ones spread on the roof. Also from guys walking rivers.

I really enjoyed this one! I am physically not able to go on adventures like this anymore. If I were I would live to come over and go with you on a few, but those days are long gone for me. I barely have the energy to go metal detecting with my son these days. Tried yesterday on my own since he is back in school but ended up coming home in about an hour because the pain in my feet(Diabetic nerve damage) and my hands ( Baron Dupetrenes, and Rheumatoid arthritis) was just too much for me. This morning isn't much better. I have pain pills for it but refuse to take more than prescribed and since I have been on them so long they barely help. I do enjoy the videos so much though. They help me flash back to my carefree days rockhounding and hold prospecting in the wild places.
