Hi Chris! Although I don't ascribe to the theology of the lyrics, your delivery was pleasant. The lyrics evoke the conversation between Arjuna and Krishna, ego and Consciousness, evolving humanity and Source, and these two are one. A song that represents these two in one well is WHATSOEVER YOU DO. Whatsoever you do to the least of my brothers, that you do unto me ... because Consciousness is the essence of each being.

Thank you, and I agree. I’ve recorded several songs that I don’t necessarily care for, either theologically or musically. But one of my goals was to provide recordings of all of the material in OCPs resource, whether it was a favorite of mine or not. I will say that in the last three or four years there has been a push from Oregon Catholic press to weed out some of the, how shall we say, “folksier” songs from their resources. I’ve seen the list of deletions for this upcoming hymnal and it’s continuing the trend of removing songs from the 70s and 80s that were essentially four chords and “yay God “. I can vouch that there is a lot more theology and thought and frankly vetting that goes into their newer selections.

Very nice rendition. I have to ask, however, how is it that the 1971 Carey Landry original of this was changed from singular pronouns, to plural as you render it here?

I’d have to compare the two, but I do know that song will get revised to change pronouns......something it seems started about 15-20 years ago. A lot of it was to replace male pronouns. If you can, take a look at the one I just posted “All The Ends Of Thr Earth” that’s what happened there. Also, the song “seek the Lord”
