*Spoilers* It's interesting how much the difficulty of the questions varies in the final. The Wikipedia question seemed fiendish whereas the flags question that followed it should have been a relatively gettable 5 pointer. I can say this with confidence because learning all the country flags is something that every serious quizzer does (although apparently not these contestants!); you only need to know that's a Somalia flag and you've almost got the connection. But the Wikipedia editing wars are just not common knowledge nor do they readily spring to the mind of a guesser.

I believe if they had said "things that are argued about" or "things whose real claim is disputed" would've been accepted. Btw I got it right at the first clue.

I would be interested to see evidence of "Qu" as an abbreviation for "question". Its always "Q" or "q". Maybe the fact checker from QI was doing a stint on Only Connect.

You'd have more of a point if the winners lost once previously. Since neither used their chance to lose once, it was a fine match up.

Those were insect orders, not genera. Yep, it must be the QI fact checker. (And they have 6 legs, not 2, but I think that was just a slip up by Victoria).
@The_Wandering_Hobbit3 жыл бұрын
Yeah that was a pretty glaring error for this show. And I suspect Victoria meant to say wings, not legs. Either way, that was one of the few connections I actually figured out XD

I found his captain Mark Walton much more annoying. For a start he didn't say please when selecting the hieroglyphs (unlike most other players) and often in the series Goodyear had either the right answer or right idea but Mark ignored him and lost the question.

Some of the answers, I donno if they should have counted, seemed a little unfair. 'it's to do with the flag and the wording on the flag.' you're just describing the clue, and the empty chairs answer all they said was you're talking to someone that's not there, seems like empty chairs was pretty integral to the answer considering one of them was just a reserved seat for an award
