I knew all words except Languid, and figured most of them out within a second. But Beacon just never came to me, and Olive took a fair while to figure out for some reason, perhaps because I don't associate olives with the word "fruit"... I also had to figure out Nomadic in my own language first, based on the clue, since I just didn't remember the term in any language at all... :) (its "nomadisk" in Swedish, btw)

I got all 21 correct with little effort, and the 14th word was the only one I didn't figure out until after the hints started to appear (was a little embarrassed about that, even though the answer still came to me in time). IMO was a bit too easy even in the final round, but I am after all a native English speaker plus a bit of a word geek (love crosswords and Scrabble).

*BRIAN WILES:* As one "lover" of English to another I'd consider it a kindness if (as in the case of question #5 in round 1) you would please *ASPIRATE the "H" in words like "WHINE"*. I was *NOT* expecting to hear you pronounce the word as though it's "a red liquid that can make you tipsy" as in *"WINE"*. The same is true for *WHAT, WHEN, WHERE, WHY... etc.* It's far too common (and unsettling to my ear) to constantly hear these pronounced *WUT, WEN, WARE AND "Y". Call it a harmless peeve of mine!* 🎯😉 I'm sure, by now, you've caught my drift. Learners of English as a second or foreign language might find my suggestion very helpful, too, for helping them in their desire to learn these common English words correctly; probably better than most Americans. *THANKS FOR YOUR KIND CONSIDERATION OF THIS REQUEST!* 😊
