@mikedrones537 Yeah, they made the legacy split I think two years ago. You'll make your money back fast if you do AX combat and/or exobiology, and the engineer grind has become much less grindy in general, so you'll be able to catch back up quick.

I just got 2 AX rocket hits on the core with a Courier earlier. Got shot down a few times, the bonds won't even cover 10% of the rebuys. 😅 But those drives cannot be passed up.

@ I do not know by first-hand experience, since the times I got shot down I did not get any shots (or even a glance) at the titan core. I succeeded on the final try, from which I immediately withdrew and returned alive to the rescue cruiser Hutner. However, I have been told that it counts if you get shot down after. Note that I have not confirmed this.

Neither Increased Range nor Faster Boot Sequence reduce the FSD's mass. Increased Range actually makes it heavier. Did you mean optimal mass?

You cannot take guardian modules of any kind into the system with the titan. There is a guardian melt zone once you enter and all modules will become inoperable within minutes. You must collect mats and get your stuff engineered to use them, or use human AX modules. Many vids on the subject. I know because I'm a returning player as well, and just finished the engineering for my own modules this morning!! Good luck and o7 commander.

Remember to keep the pulse neutralizer held down as you see the cloud approaching, with Systems on full. It took me ages to realise this.

Just got the reward engines in absolutely un-engineered Diamondback Scout - at second try (first one I screwed hiding from patrol even before starting the attack run). Rebuy cost in case of failure was 440k, gain is engineered engines +20M... The ship was doing pod rescue missions before, and titan sampling. Just after that, helped other commander - took Cobra MK III and they earned their merits too. Also unengineered ship. Engineering is overrated ;)

You don't need engineering. Hull reinforcements will do, a pulse neutralizer, nanite torpedos, ax multi cannons and 2 caustic sink launchers. You can buy all of these from the rescue ship.

Python MK2 is not behind a paywall and is a really great ship for Titan bombing. I made 12 million in one bombing run, but it is engineered and equipped with shard cannons.
