Unfortunately if you cut off your leg...you can still get phantom pain (as if your leg was still there!) 😞 I live with severe chronic pain and fatigue...this kind of life is just awful!

I was the School Nurse at a high school where a student was in a rollover vehicle accident, crushing her right forearm. It was damaged beyond repair, so it was amputated right below the elbow. Poor kiddo. The phantom pain she experienced was excruciating, she ended up with a pretty nasty drug addiction. This was about 8-10 years ago. I often think about her and I hope she is fulfilled in her life.

@@SueP-D So sad! 😞 I had a patient that was a double leg amputee, he had a seizure and was found unconscious, in his bathroom, his leg were bent underneath him and he had been out for too long and lost circulation! He was in his late 20's and ended up committing suicide a few years after...he just couldn't live like that!

My uncle had his leg amputated after a severe infection. He now endures extreme phantom pain.

I was in a car accident also. I was hit by a man going over 80 mph. I was in a compact car he was in a Suburban and drunk. I’ve had 5 major back surgeries and so many other procedures I do no longer count them. I have permanent nerve damage and chronic pain. Please keep your great fantastic attitude and love of life. I spend most of me week in bed. But those days that my pain level is down. I try to do something fun. I know you have a great amount of friends and family who help you in many many ways.

As someone that suffers from chronic pain I 100% am with Teige. If there was a way to amputate mine I would be at the hospital right now and not leave until the pain was gone. People cannot understand what they do not suffer. Teige do what you need to buddy. I understand!

I have CRPS in both arms, both legs, right side of my face wrapping around to the back of my head and neurogenic bladder. I also developed Hyperadrenergic POTS because of the CRPS. I understand the desire to have limbs chopped off anyhow, anyway. My pain is like having my skin scrubbed with sandpaper then having hot greased poured on top of that. It also affects the blood flow to my lower legs severely and I often can’t walk at all because of it. This condition truly is a nightmare.

I have excruciating anxiety. Thank God I finally found a great psych. Took forever for him to prescribe me what I needed. But he realized I was not playing. Nor drug seeking. I hope your life becomes amazing.

I get it kid. I had severe arthritis in my right knee but no Dr would do a knee replacement bc they said I was "too young". I begged for the whole damn leg to be removed bc I could no longer handle the pain. I finally found a Dr who did a tkr.

I live with chronic pain. and have been so for over 25 years. I find most people don't understand, as they see me when I'm medicated and my pain level is low. When it goes up I leave and go home. I'm fortunate to have an understanding husband. I offered him to divorce me, so I will not become a burden on him, but he refused. God bless him. You are too young to live with this and I wish you the best in your decisions. God bless you.

Even at my worst pain, nobody can understand. They see me but don’t see blood, injury, broken bones or anything. It’s impossible for people who have never experienced comparable, unrelenting pain to imagine it at all. It’s the chronic part that’s killing me. I’d rather have one day a week of unbearable pain then six days of no pain at all. Instead it’s different levels of constant pain that’s emotionally and mentally exhausting. There’s literally no end.

That’s what I was thinking! It’s one thing to accidentally hit someone. It’s what you do after that counts! He was a kid! What kind of psychopath doesn’t stop to see if the person is ok?! Even if I didn’t have insurance, or was driving with no license or something stupid and illegal, I would have stopped! One of my friends in elementary school got hit by a car and had a broken arm and broken leg, knocked out her 3 front teeth, broke a rib and had a concussion, and the guy who hit her didn’t stop! She flew up over his windshield. Luckily we were all standing there at the bus stop when he hit her and could give a description of his car and he was caught and arrested. He was high on heroin and violating his parole. Thank goodness they got him. This poor young man has to live his life in pain, both physical and emotional every single day. I hope she is paying for it with karma.

You deal with it. You don't get the choice. You can only go forward. You can do it with a positive mindset or a negative one. For me it started with a surgery and it spread I have constant nerve pain too (from the ribs down to my toes) you hold on the the good moments and pray time goes fast during the bad ones.

I feel for this kid. I understand his life. I'm a mom of four (13, 11, 9, & 7. For the past probably 10 years I have been living with what I thought was earlier arthritis like mom before me. I found out just this past year I actually have fibromyalgia osteoarthritis chronic depression chronic anxiety I also have COPD and I have PTSD. All of these are affected one another. It is very difficult and painful 😖 with the ever changing weather of Illinois it affects me daily.

I have chronic migraines called Cluster migraines often referred to suicide headaches, Fibromyalgia, PHN, and CFS. Constant pain is my normal. I can’t take pain relievers but rarely because they cause severe bleeding in my case due to a condition called HHT.

Even if the amputation didn't relieve the pain it may have given him a chance to walk with two strait functional legs . They don't seem to be in a hurry to seek a second opinion though and he seems to be making peace with his condition !

He Teige, I was drawn to your video because at one time I was told I had CRPS because I have chronic painful tinnitus 24/7. So all day my ear hurts and creates a migraine. I too live on pain killers. I hate it. I went to lots and lots of doctors just like you, even asking to have the nerve in my ear cut but they said it might get worse. I found a doctor that did brain surgery on me and my condition changed, some symptoms got better, others got worse. I had gamma knife, that is something that might help you. It pinpoints the nerve and can kill it. I had it done twice but it didn't help, but it might help you. It's all done with radiation, no surgery involved. I had it done in New York with a Dr. Michael Brisman. Don't give up. Offer up your pain to God and pray the Rosary to our holy mother Mary. I will pray for you also. You are not alone. There are many of us and just take it a day at a time. ❤️

honestly not sure if this counts as chronic pain, but I had scoliosis for 10 years (I got surgery last December). the pain was excruciating at times. like I was being tased or something.

@@Bowser14456 Thank you for replying to me. I have mild scoliosis. The family Doctor found it on an x-ray when I was 12 years old. It explained a lot. I am 49 now. I am really worried about my great niece. Her Dr's said that she has to get to a certain degree of scoliosis and she has to stop growing before they do surgery.

Perhaps you could try spinal cord stimulation which ultimitely could decrease your pain.i honestly hope and pray that a cure for crps will soon be found

I suffered from severe CMP (Chronic Myofascial Pain) for many years. Luckily I was slowly cured by doing trigger point therapy. I think a lot of chronic pain is due to this, but under diagnosed. It’s worth checking with a trained physical therapist for trigger pointed tissue, because doctors won’t do it. Doing so saved my life.
