What a lovely, charismatic town. Trying to imagine it in metres of snow. It would feel so much like Christmas, especially with the music box store 😀🌲🔔🎶

My grandfather still lives there. Lifelong fisherman. Love the Music Box Museum. Bought quite a few music boxes.

Very interesting with a much different vibe during the day. The city was smart to exploit the canal to create a place for people to visit and enjoy. Love the mix of architecture as well, so interesting to look at.

It needs more people. God permitting, our ancestors will come back soon, and enliven the place. Eventhough they are officially declared as dead.

Aww. The sound of the wind chimes over the canal is so soothing! Otaru Canal looks like a treasure. ❤ I remember the clock from another live you did. Isn't that the one where the little miniature dancing figures come out and dance on the hour? ❤ LOL! You CAN afford underwear because of the undies fund. 😂 I just realized that the destination is amazing but the conversation between John and PVG is gold. Just the banter about underwear is hilarious! 😂 PS: SO MANY MUSIC BOXES! Adding it to my list. It is growing longer!

It’s just like I remember it from 2019! The old buildings, all the amazing artisan glass shops, the street bricks that look like fish scales. Speaking of Kamui, I’m hoping that when you guys get to Akanko you can visit the old Ainu village at the top of a really cool shopping street at the end of town. The Lake Akan Tsuruga Wings hotel we stayed at had the best variety of onsen baths I have seen anywhere in Japan, a stunningly good experience😓

@@smartfrenandromax6651 Japanese were fascinated by western technology and architecture in general and drew inspiration during modernization. A lot of buildings are not direct copies. Many have some Japanese details such as the roofs.

Hi there! Love what you do❤️ I’ll be taking my daughter to Japan next year for her college graduation gift, it’s where she wants to go, any suggestions on where we can stay? Hotel or Airbnb? I will be in Tokyo, Osaka, Kobe, and Kyoto, I do know she wants to experience the onsen ☺️thank you!
@onlyinjapanGO2 жыл бұрын
Wow, that is so great!!! Congratulations!! Well, you can’t go wrong, just pick an area that’s interesting to her and you’ll be outside most of the time. Definitely stay at a ryokan area an onsen town for at least a night, maybe 2. Kusatsu is close and nice, used to international tourists. Takaragawa was my favorite for many years. Loads of places. Cities are okay but try a local town like Takayama or Mino maybe. Nagano has a lot of little towns.

Hotel. Try a relatively middle budget kind. For Osaka, I recommend L'agent Osaka Bay. Near Universal Studios Japan, can be easily walked there using the garden walkway. Sakurajima Station is also near. Back in 2018, also stayed at Tokyo's Kinshicho's Levant (Skytree/Edogawa) & Sapporo's Royton Sapporo. Nice places.
@smartfrenandromax66512 жыл бұрын
Osaka, Kobe, Kyoto are Shinkansen distance. You can use JR West Pass, valid also for JR West's Nozomi services. Osaka being the bigger town might have a more variety of services.

A Hatsune Miku color themed Lamborghini? Is Miku-chan the Secret Agent stalking you guys? She is after all, a Sapporo, Hokkaido kind of girl. Unknown if Hoshino Sumire is the same; Doraemon's Nobita's cousin Sumire/Sumiresan did have a wedding at Hokkaido though. There is a lot of young female Intel Agents in Hokkaido. Those girls, they are most likely a few of them. It is not the first time an Intel Agent had briefly showed up in your stream though. Some are quite clumsy, while others had a 'show of force' thing. A few acted as support ala 'The Secret Service'.
