Maybe the last act felt kinda like a strech but it serves two purposes: Having Batman realize what he's been creating (Riddler being the one hinting at him how he inspired him and the Riddler's cosplayer remarking that with "Vengance") and also, solidifying Batman as a hopeful hero, maybe in the next movie he could use "Justice" instead of Hope cause I feel like that Sups theme. I can even begin to state that Reeves could make the definitive Batman in live action, all the pieces are there, the seeds have been planted and now he has to continue to create this amazing world. More than anything I want Robin in this saga: screw Joker, Harley Quinn or whatever, we need Robin.

@@OnMyMindEntertainment I Think we’ll get a Easter egg in the sequel, but we’ll actually see a 17 or 18 ish Robin in the last one. And by then, 7 or 8 years would’ve passed so Batman can be the wise and more mature version of himself confronting a deeply hurt, brass and vengeful Robin. Then he will fully understand what Alfred had to deal with when he took on the “Vengeance” persona.

He is. Vowels in Italian names are pronounceable. And in Arabic "Ras" is pronounced as it is written..."Ras". That was part of the Nolanverse. However, this movie is going after the comic book pronunciation. So Falcone minus E and if Ras going to show up he will be "Raysh".

I agree and disagree (respectfully) with you on some points (everyone is entitled to their own opinions). "The Batman" flaws I felt was the bullet immunity with no consequence yet was still about to jump/leap about like in tights (let alone holding himself up after shotgun blast to chest). The romance with Selena Kyle/catwoman felt a bit forced/rushed ... wasn't feeling the connection, but the biggest flaw was movie length ... it really felt that it dragged on, I looked at my watch a couple of times in the cinema. Dark knight I felt didn't drag on it felt the right length, but I agree with the Two-Face section could have been written better (Have Joker taunt him, disappear til after Joker is caught, then end the movie with Police/Batman not finding Harvey and the two cops who kidnapped him and Rachel get shot ... fade to credits).

I think it would have been way better if Falcone hadn't been lying about Bruce's father. It makes for some really interesting material to grapple with. But of course the movie immediately backs off of it because we're not allowed to deal with real moral complexity in a blockbuster. I also feel like it would have been more interesting if The Riddler didn't go full evil. What if he was just killing gangsters? That allows the movie to ask how he's any different than Batman, and why Batman gets a monopoly on vigilante justice. But again, the movie backs away from that interesting idea by having him want to flood the city.
@mukkaar2 жыл бұрын
To me 2022 batman was *really* good, that said, I do really like The Dark Knight but in different way so I can't really choose between the two which is the best. That said, I think I can say in my opinion this is the best Batman the character in movies.

This was definitely the most Batman live action film ever. I did think it went on too long. I felt after watching it, should have ended at the death of Falcone but they were like we need a action scene at the end. Like the riddlers plan went from killing corrupt officials to wacky drown the city villain plot at the end.

I can’t wait until we see the full Bruce Wayne persona from Pattinson. If you haven’t seen Robert Pattinson in Tenet, I highly recommend you watch it because his character is probably the closest resemblance to what Robert’s Bruce Wayne will look and sound like minus the British accent. lol

Affleck is my favorite Batman. The costume is realistic and comicbook correct, focusing on mobility over rubber or armor plating, and the vehicles are realistic, yet more sleek than the Bale vehicles. I also see Affleck as the best pretty boy of the Batmans.
@Navin40612 жыл бұрын
After watching it twice, I agree with Ryan completely as he captures all the issues I had with the film. I loved the dark noir feel of the film, it's basically Fincher's Seven meets Batman and I loved it. Robert Pattinson was excellent as Batman and maybe my favourite and most comic accurate Batman yet. The first two acts were great (barring the Catwoman subplot which I didn't care for) with a great premise of a murder mystery and the corruption aspect. It reminded me of great Batman stories like Mask of the Phantasm, Long Halloween and Court of Owls etc. especially the Wayne's and Arkham past which was great. But my problem with the film started when the main through-line of the film, which is the detective/investigation aspect of it falls flat when it was straightforward that Falcone was the big bad and the third act was a complete stretch, overdramatic and stupid as it only made the film unnecessarily overlong. Also, didn't buy the Cat and the Bat romantic angle cuz their chemistry is kinda non-existent in the film. I still rank it as one of the better Batman films but for me, TDK is still the best Batman film up to now.
@RevanXIII Жыл бұрын
with the bomb scene, its not the fire or shrapnel that would do the most damage, its the concussive force to his internal organs. his armor blocks bullets, sure, but his suit is way too sleek to have any significant padding beneath needed to dampen the force of the explosion. Batman would die of something called "Blast Lung"

I haven't seen the Batman but if he is abusing a drug to be stronger it's most likely venom like Bane would use. Which would mean this could be in a dark batman universe. I really hope it's the saint Batman arc where Batman gets hurt and gets Azrael to take over. He makes a badass iron man suit style Batman and removes batman's head or maybe his brain and puts it in a machine so he can break his will.

My favorite Batman by far. My only concern is in comparing the extreme Batman and Riddler represent, they really end up showing Riddler was right to an extent - like not like a villain going too far but that the only conceivable alternative to a corrupt system is to literally destroy it with floods and murder. Like there’s so much worthy of valid criticism in what Batman is as a character especially as a more realistic one, in the universe, and the movie does that so well. I do worry it walks the line The Boys does however (which is mostly fine), they critique cops, megacorporations, scientology and more than anything the extreme adeptness capitalism will co-opt the messages of progress despite perpetuating injustice. Like with Starlight’s new suit, and the Citizen Starlight movie - but y’know we still get the sex appeal on screen and critiques the power of corporations whilst making money from it- it literally is all the shit it critiques. They didn’t let the post-third act breathe past the bad very much and focus on the turning point as tragedy, and how Batman is just a man and despite his efforts (to beat people up rather than idk charity) he at best can hope to make things less bad and that his struggle to do that is heroic, noble and does make a difference- which is an incredibly poignant and important message for folks to live with in this age. Love from a fellow Texan lol. Depending on its focus in the sequel and given the other themes that were heavily coating the scene in the Garden it may not have the effect I saw on those I would worry about. I just hope it doesn’t scan as Thirteen Reasons Why for terrorism, because the terrorists were correct and got what they wanted.

It was a great portrayal from Robert Pattinson (John Turturro, too), but Batman Begins is still tops for me. Because they focused so much on Batman as a detective, there just wasn't any interesting adventure story to it. He didn't perform any spectacular rescues or avert any dangerous situations, and his only fights were against unidentified crazy people.
@OnMyMindEntertainment2 жыл бұрын
I could see that. But I feel like since this is a Batman in his early years, we have to see him struggle to eventually get to Prime Batman/Bruce Wayne we know. I love Batman Begins, but outside of his mansion being burned down, he does everything else right. He doesn't really seem like a year one Batman in that movie. I do think this movie may be a little too realistic in some aspects for some that want a more action heavy Batman story.

He had the makeup and the hair and vibe of a full emo Myspace kid, the only thing missing was the dark poetry and cutting himself. Also found it steange how Ryan called them twitch commenters, when they were definitely more inline with Twitter's cancel culture mob.
