I just found you today - binge watched and I'm loving it! I subscribed because your knowledge and style sit well with me. One of the 1st things I learned - back in the days when home ec. was a required subject - was to rip fabric to get a straight edge. I never see anyone doing that anymore and it's so basic and IT WORKS. I will definitely be trying some tile blocks but I have been wanting to try Hawaiian applique block and this is the first qayg that looks great when finished. Your tips about choosing backing fabric makes so much sense. I do have one additional comment on that - I noticed that you didn't pay attention to the direction of the backing for the blocks so I guess busy, but directional would just mean more fabric?? Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge. Why has you tube been keeping you a secret - I watch quilting videos frequently and it's only been in the last week or so that I saw you come up in my suggestions.

Hi Grandma - thanks for your kind works. If the backing is direction then I would pay attention, but this one wasn't and I try not to use a direction for this technique so that I don't accidentally do it wrong :) Please share my videos on your social media so more can see me :) - Thanks!! Nancy

So excited I found your videos. I can’t wait to try it. I saw that you have the patterns for the Dutch tiles and Moroccan tiles. Do you also have the Greek Tile’s pattern also available? I think that set might be the prettiest. TIA

Does the block by block book have a calculation for how much backing to buy? I'm having way to much trouble trying to figure it out..... my finished blocks (total 20) will be 14" and so far I'd like to have a 5" boarder. My tentative calculation is 5 to 6 yards..... does that sound right?

Hi Debra, yes Beth Donaldsons book does break it down very well with how much you need to purchase and for what.
