Attic fire in older apartments, that have a common attic,without a firebreak between units going from ground to sky? Se that kind of burn pattern in those style apartments all the time. Save on construction, but lose 15 units to fire? Maybe it would have been only 4, and how many fewer people losing property, or their lives?

There is this new-fangled thing called a firewall required in new construction in most civilized countries. Somebody should tell the Americans about it.

Paul you should know that firewalls are usually found in commercial structures and are used to prevent fires spreading from one unit to another NOT within a single rental unit.
