For me the undead are by far the best of Mantic's offerings, I love their classic undead feel. Very appropriate for Halloween.

Have no fear! The rules are free for download on Mantics site. I can't link on youtube, but just go to Mantics website and there's a link on the main page where you can download the basic rules + army lists. Your WHFB buddies should be able to use their existing armies for it.

Great video guys, it's a good intro for all those wanting to know about the game system. I like the Wounds/Morale combination, it seems like a better system than having to remove models each turn and is perhaps a better representation of ancient warfare. Can't wait for part 2

I play Warhammer Fantasy and I've played through three editions so far. The way GW is blowing up the game with the End Times release, I think I'm going to jump into Kings of War just to test the waters. The ogre army appeals to me, so do the orcs and goblins. Decisions, decisions.
@PMMagro9 жыл бұрын
***** Just try it- most models are very usefull in both. personally I think GWs models looks best but Matics are fine too- only their game rules are much easier and does not require models för 1000 £....

***** The End Times will be the best thing that has ever happened to Mantic. I'm only even looking at this because of all the nasty rumors about what this Age of Sigmar thing will be.

I been interested in this game for a while. Just reading the rules for a bit , it seems simple enough that i feel like I already know how to play. The way this squads are based compared to other war games feel more organised and less of a mess.

They don't quite glue together, but they would stick a piece of card or something. The removing models for wounds idea (but keeping the bases/movement tray) is something I've suggested to WFB players who don't like the concept of no casualty removal.

Definitely the best explanation of KoW I've seen so far. Thinking I might pick up the rulebook at some point and see if I can get some of my WHFB buddies to give it a shot with me.

Easy to catch up! Do you know if they allow non-mantic miniatures at tournaments?
@Daedlehack11 жыл бұрын
Almost always. The Clash of Kings tournament back in February needed 75% Mantic minis, but that was because they were using it for promo and scared of getting sued if players were using another manufacturers minis. Since then you've been free to use any miniatures you like.

I'm really digging the Dwarf Units, especially the Ironclads! They just have this Spartan-ness to them with their armor and shields ready for battle. Also, were the bases designed to be glued together? I was thinking about magnetizing the square base with the figure's circle base; that way you could remove figures from the squads as wounds are taken while still keeping the unit's original size for determining flanking etc.
@Daedlehack11 жыл бұрын
2000 points is a slightly above average game. Most "tournament sized" games are between 1600 and 1800 points. 2000 starts to feel a little cramped on a 6x4 board unless you go a bit overboard on magic items.
@WARdROBEPlaysWWII11 жыл бұрын

Compared to WFB, it is: - Simpler, so you can concentrate on the game rather than the rules - Balanced, most army builds are "competitive" and there are no huge surges in meta as each new book comes out. - Quicker, takes about half the time of the equivalent WFB game - Tighter rules, leading to fewer arguments - Tactical, no building an unbreakable horde and walking up the field not caring about flank charges. - Magic is toned down and tends to be just ranged attacks/healing or extra movement.
