Donny is my home town, joined the army aged 19 to escape and I haven't been back in years. Watching your last two video's I hardly recognize the place. The Don was once the most polluted river in Europe and now salmon are running up it again, unbelievable. A truck full of vegetables drove off that A1M bridge that you mentioned , apparently the locals were eating free cabbages for weeks after. If you go back up the Selby canal it is now carpeted with that strange green weed and it is getting worse.
@NarrowboatWill2 жыл бұрын
I thought the river Don going into Sheffield would be heavily industrialised but it's very pretty and bursting with wildlife. Green people keep telling us we are killing the planet but it seems to be the opposite. Fantastic cruise. Thanks for watching.

@@NarrowboatWill just because we've cleaned up some of the rivers, it doesn't mean we're not messing up lots more places. These heat waves and droughts are some of the consequences of what we're doing.

Nobody wanted to live by the waterside when l was a kid ,Sometimes when you were fishing the hook would dissolve,probably due to the large battery pile leading down to the waters edge .My Dad said he used to slide down it on old sheets of tin when he was a kid ! No Thorpe Park then 😱

Ha ha No Thorpe park. Alot cheaper and more fun. Great story thanks Tony.

That dream was a bit disturbing though. If the symptoms continue, I would stop putting things down to a stomach bug and go see a doctor. Also a strange sort of synchronicity: when our family lived in Doncaster, the family doctor, who was also a family friend, lived in Sprotborough, where we used to visit him (+ family) a lot.
