I am wanting to get a himi for my self, and videos like yours inform me about problems and solutions. This has not dampened my desire to get one. i believe that the himi is the best adv for the market, who needs so much power, after all there are speed limits in australia, and the himi can get up to any of them (expecially once broken in). Hi Ben, I thought I could share my experience in solving the stalling issue in Himma. We know that evap is the main culprit in this issue. I noticed one thing regarding this evap hose. During the tank mounting, we connect the drain hose & evap hose under the tank & then when we slide the tank forward, the evap hose gets slightly pinched near the tank nipple. Just look under the tank when sliding it forward & notice the evap hose! So after mounting the tank, I just slightly pulled the evap hose near the oil cooler to make sure the hose doesn't get pinched near the tank nipple. We can't see to be sure but just some mind calculations on how much to pull the hose. And I tied the hose to the tank rails. Believe me, after this the stalling issue almost gone! 500 kms after this - just 1 or 2 times stalling happened. Peace of mind now!
@ONTWOWHEELSBEN3 жыл бұрын
Yes dear brother. I have made a dedicated video on removing the whole EVAP system to help with stalling problems . Pls watch the same and do the needful.

Thanks for spreading the word about this issue. It's definitely advisable to swap out the relays as soon as you can. Some guys are getting stranded riding home from the dealership after a stop, because the fuel pump will not prime again. RE really needs to switch to a different supplier for these relays. It's such a silly and inexpensive thing to fix that leads to a lot of problems for customers.

Brother, If you owned a classic 500 efi, you will know that the fuel pump was hard wired to the ignition. Means, when you turn on the keys, the fuel pump would prime. I really dont know why they designed this fancy relay system. I found it an over design kill. I just hard wired the 87 terminal to the 30 terminal of the fuel pump relay and said goodbye to the relay. It really isnt necessary. Your battery can only output a certain amount of current (amps) and the Voltage is constant. The fuel pump can handle it. Himalayan Battery is 12V, 8amps. It just cant generate more than 8amps current. It doesnt matter if you have a 20amp or 30amp relay, thats just the max load the relay can handle. Hard wiring just makes it a clean circuit. The way himalayan went, i feel is, more parts, more money, more trouble.

Yes I am in Colombia South America and have had many bikes including a Ninja and Honda Goldwing, but the Himalayan has a special place in my heart. The biggest problem that I have with my 2021 is the embarrassing as well as downright dangerous cutting out in city traffic. Some say that the problem is letting the engine RPM drop close to idle, but if I wanted a Ninja I wouldn't have sold my old one. I want a bike that I can relax on and not fear the engine cutting out on deceleration and acceleration from idle. i have dropped the bike only twice, and both times I was taking off from a dead stop and it cut out and nearly threw both my wife and I off. Now I no longer trust the bike and ride it as if it is going to cut out. I will be searching around for a high quality substitute for the relays and I hope it helps, the dealership has really been no help at all. The cutting out is really the only thing I dislike about the bike. Thanks for the vid and info.

@ONTWOWHEELSBEN3 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the kind acknowledgment dear friend. Means a lot . Will continue to share what I know and learn . Also as far as the fuel leaking from the lid is concerned. You will have to replace the rubber gasket on the lid that acts like a seal . Or try to use rubber replenishing products ( rubber rejuvenators) . It will take multiple applications before you can get you rubber gasket to work like how it is supposed to .

Hi Ben, first of all, just want to thank you very much for all videos and replies to all hymalayans owners. Myself just got a 2022 Himalayan and I am loving it so much that I wish to have the time to hit the road for a long time. I have the same issue as everyone with the stock relays and replacements are on the way from Hitchcock. Another thing that I notice while I was trying to lube my chain at 170 miles is a wobbling on the back tire. Did you ever witness this issue? is this normal or expected? Let me know at your best time.
@ONTWOWHEELSBEN2 жыл бұрын
Hi Joe . Good to hear that you are having a great time on your bike . The wobble can be just an uneven tyre ( replaced under warranty) or a bent rim ( get it trued ) . Or sometimes it’s just a simple case of rear wheel alignment issues . And very rarely it is a faulty Cush rubber problem . So yup these are the things you need to check and fix . Pls take the bike to a competent garage and not the dealer .

I took it back to the dealership where I bought it.. They "fixed" it by apparently resetting the ECU and increasing the idle.. It worked for a day... Then I read about a problem with the OE relays - I replaced them with good quality automotive relays.. That was two years (10,000km) ago.. I haven't had it stall once in that period of time.. Now to get the idle back down to normal as I'd forgotten to do that.. Does anyone know what a 2021 Classic 500 is supposed to idle at?

Hi Ben, much thanks for bringing out this video. Will replace the relays since even after negating the EVAP, once in a while I still face the stalling issue and some of them were pretty much scary. I was thinking, does the bank angle sensor create the stalling issue, would like to know your opinion on this.

i recently got the re Himalayan (about 4 days back ) and i noticed when i downshift sometimes the bike just stalls for no good reason luckily my clutch was engaged most of the times it has stalled and sometimes the rear tire nearly locks up due to the engine stalling and engine breaking being so much higher than normal and then I clutched in due more engine braking than id expect. will this solve the issue ? will this void the warranty? when i keep the rmps a bit high by rev matching while down shifting this issue is reduced.
@ONTWOWHEELSBEN3 жыл бұрын
Yes , that’s one solution. But rev matching every single time in a lean running machine is not a good ideA.
@frafen35622 жыл бұрын
@@ONTWOWHEELSBEN Why it's not good in a lean running machine? I thought that rev matching was the best way to downshift.

Hello Ben, I recently got my himalayan delivered Granite Black BSVI, it has a weird issue that its rpm isn't stable at idle , it keeps on oscillating even after the engine getting warmed up. This causes the feel that engine would anytime stall, riding even at tank full. What could be the probable issue? (Ps: showroom ppl just raise the idle rpm and say tats the solution) which im not satisfied after riding one of my friend's bsvi himalayan
@hitlerofownthoughts84753 жыл бұрын
Somebody might have fiddled with the RPM settings. Take it to a good service center. Adjustments done to increase idle RPM by a service center for stalling issue had got me (BS IV) in the same situation. Took it to another one (a company owned one) and they fixed it for me.
