Hi Ben. Thanks for another informative video. Just as info: Recently completed 6400 kms Kolkata - Ladakh Circuit in my new Himalayan beauty. Discovered in Leh RE service centre, which is full of these new 452s, that front rim bending is now a common thing. If it happens to one, the best thing to do, is to claim the new rim through insurance. RE is promptly replacing the bent ones with new rims. My 452 is relatively new series. Yet to find out whether rim bending attacks me!

I maintained 33 psi in front and 35 psi rear. Most of the rides r with pillion, top box, saddle bags n tank bag. I used to maintain 30 psi both front n rear which felt as if the bike was dragging after maintaining 33 n 35 it felt better ride

Is there a documentation from RE some where suggesting ideal pressure.
@DAILY_FACTS_TREAT3 ай бұрын
28 front and 30 rear (for stock tyres) is very practical as it covers full surface area of tyre on road.if you go beyond then the wheel will shred from centre portion only......suggested by experienced and premium mechanic.As a user we also want to get most use of tyres for the money we pay.

Would you recommend same pressure levels for a tubeless tyre too?

@ 32 right? (Was confused as the company didn’t specifically mention tubeless/tubed anywhere)

I know you asked it to Ben for a reply but I can certainly answer that. In our condition you don't need em for wind protection I guess, Ben can agree with with or his own POV.

What happens if you put 35 in front and 40 in back ? Dose it effect the rims ? Is it a disadvantage if i put more air pressure in tyre ? 😅
@purandhar-hm6vx3 ай бұрын
Ride may be too bumpy. Not sure if 40 is ok or not, it feels 40 goes into little danger territory. Generally, when tyre pressure is more (measured when tyre is at normal ambient temperature) then when you ride for long durations or very hard acceleration and braking or in summers, the tyre pressure will increase during the ride due to heat and i personally have fear of tyre bursting. From what i see in online forums, slightly high is fine, and definitely running less pressure is more dangerous than with high pressure. If you run with low tyre pressure, the rubber around the are where it touches the ground is squished little and then expands immediately when going back up during travel. Now this happens many times and so fast, and due to this contraction and expansion, heat is generated and tyre side wall may burst etc. Generally i follow manufacturer suggested pressure . If it is slight less or more (like 30-35) in case of himi 450, i don’t mind. Also a tip, get air filled before you start your ride as that will be accurate than somewhere between the ride. As tyre pressure increases when you travel for long time due to temp increase.
