Wow. Guitar at 2:45! What a marvellous adaptation of Kalpanaswaras to the guitar! Perfect Shuddha Dhanyasi! Harish Sivaramakrishnan of course keeps the soul of the Raaga, and of Muthuswami Dikshitar. The rock addition only augments, not marring the spirit of the song. Top notch music. 4:50, the beginning of the phrase "Ganga Shaila Vihaarena Parena, Valli Devasena Ramanena...", gave me the chills. Wow. And 5:35, "Venkateshwara Vibhaavitena, Vichitra Vishaakhamam Utsavena..", was just ethereal. Next level stuff.

What I am marvelling at is how the number sounds completely unlike a fusion, rather like a complete musical composition. Exciting guitar riffs, Unperturbed vocals, Beautifully crafted clusters, Hard-edged jutting-almost metal contrasting the flowy sangathis : all together lending the feel of traversing rapids against gravity on the up! More than anything, you made Carnatic sound Cool & lovably Chip-on-shoulder. The composition does not take itself seriously too. Incredible and unlike any I have heard before!
