В замену ему поставили русского, человека который никогда не был связан с КССР. За такую несправедливость Казахи восстали и потребовали вернуть бывшего секретаря. Но в ответ получили удар от МВД СССР, более 200 человек погибли, 200 ранены и 1000 арестованы. В честь такого кровопролитие власти уже в 1992 году решили дождаться 16 декабря чтобы была напоминаем ради чего это все было.
