When Shimano launched their 9200 and 8100, they promised all problems with their power meters are gone. Yet, till now, people are still reporting inconsistency and inaccuracy. I had been waiting for them to fully solve the issue before making a purchase, but it seems like they are unable to solve the problem with software updates, and the problems are more likely to be hardware related. So, I am done. If I am spending my money, I need to ensure it'll work 100% perfectly every time, rather than a semi-finished product. There are obviously power pedal solutions, but I don't want to mess up the Q-factor while giving up my excellent Look Keo Blade pedal for something ugly (Favero). 4iiii works well but it just looks like a tumour, idk. SRAM QUARQ is by far the only product that both seems to work fine and look fine.

I hope I am not too late to the party. Those 2 bolts on the shimano crank arm collect dirt and more importantly sweat. Regardless of how well you bike wash that sweat will stay there. And sweat will eat away at the most stubborn metals. I've replaced these bolts with Ti bolts and the same result. Corrosion. So ok, 54NM of torque is a pain but I would rather not have the corrosion.

Yes I agree it looks nice on the Dura-Ace, however for me Dura-Ace is an expensive Groupset I am happy with Ultegra don't really care about the looks not sure many people will notice it - apart from me. I am a big fan of Shimano compared to SRAM as Shimano's Groupset material is much stronger and can take a lot of punishment and survive.

but there is still no good crank arm power meter option for Shimano IMO, so it's not like for like..

Shimano cranksets look better, and have better ratios. Also, with the new built in power meters in the 12sp Shimano cranksets, you don't have to trash the powermeter when you need to change your chainring
