A bit of history for you. In about 1986 the importer of these to the UK went bust with a ship,ent of cars on he sea. Alan Day, a VW delership in Regents Park Rd Finchley bought the bankrupt stock of I think about 60 of these cars before they landed in the UK. My dad bought one for about £3000. Despite a bit of turbo lag it went like sh*t of a shovel. there was a small network of about 10 dealers to service them. Great car!

This was the first quick car I owned back in 1996 and loved it. It had the Lotus steering and suspension as the previous model had handling issues but not that helped me as I ended up losing the rear and hit a tree and a telegraph pole.😢 I think the 2 controls on the right hand side may have been the lightning level for the dash and the two control panels. It was good to have something different as everyone else had the usual 205’s, Fords, Renault 5 Turbo and Uno Turbo. It was a sad day when that car was winched onto a lorry to go to the scrap yard 😢

I owned one of these back around 2000 ish. Hell of a fast motor, 0-60 was if i remember just a hair under 6 seconds hence the control pods. Flat out you didn't want to take you hands off the wheel. Rear wheel drive and very torquey so the back tyres didn't last very long!
