OP in the first story hasn't updated in 9 years. I hope everything is going well with her. She deserves better.

Oh geez, really? I just hope whatever happened, she’s doing better now and cut contact with her parents. As for the sister, I hope they were able to rekindle their bond and make up for what happened

Personally I think she should just message her father "You are now dead to me. Goodbye." change her last name and live her life. I don't think I could forgive me parents if they did that to me. If she forgave them, she is a stronger person than me.

They only want OP back because now they're lonely. Poor them. Boohoo. Give them the same affection and care that they gave you. They deserve the pain they feel now. I'd personally take it a step too far and probably post about how I was the unwanted child in the family.
@Catherine.Dorian.10 ай бұрын
I imagine they’d have let her back in, made up for it until the moment their real daughter returns and then they’d throw op back out. But that post hasn’t been updated in almost a decade

Your parents want redemption but they don't deserve it. Forgiveness they say can heal old wounds but that's crap. 18 years of cruelty isn't erased with a gosh we feel bad that we were not as good of a parent to you as we should have been. That's not an apology. It's self serving and demands forgiveness where none is owed

Story 1: good thing OP has that in writing. I am pretty sure she can sue if she wanted to take that route.

"You were so used to not having a lot" No one is used to having basically nothing. They just make do. What fucked up world would it be if you never gave someone the choice to accept more rather than expect them to be content with even less than the bare minimum

Second story: It’s funny how OP keeps asking why she did this, when an imbecile could figure it out; Her boyfriend discovered her flirting with OP, and she tried to frame OP and get him fired to save her cheating ass.

“You were far worse than ‘bad parents.’ You were unjust and unfeeling to the point of abuse. I am older now, and as an adult, I understand much more about the failings of human behavior. Yet, I have never been able to understand the failure of a parent who favors one child over another to the point of neglect and hurtful behavior. I sincerely doubt that I ever will. However, I will share three things that I do know far better than any degree of which you have shown yourself capable of grasping on your own: I do not wish to know people like you ‘better.’ I do not need anyone in my life who needs to get to know their own child because of years of neglect and malicious repression. I do not believe I should ever accept responsibility for helping people who have spent the last fourteen years abusing me feel better about themselves. I regret that I find myself unable to attend your family dinner, but I do hope it finds you all well, and that it is enjoyable for all there.”

Story 1 God I hope OP doesn't talk to there parents after that. OP: why did you treat me like I wasn't wanting? Dad: you weren't, you were a drain on your sister's resources and now she's gone we want someone to parent until she's back. And you should be grateful we didn't drop you of in a orphanage. Seriously if complete strangers though it was in the children's best interest to not separate twins why don't the parents see or think that. As for didn't have the resources for 2 kids from the post it sounds like they had plenty of resources for both of them they just wasted most of them of expensive luxury items for one sister and bargain bin rubbish for op. So decent stuff for both was a option.

What really happened was that they realized Golden Sister was not going to take care of them. They figured they'd better butter up the unwanted twin because she just might be useful after all. I can't believe people this cruel suddenly grew a conscious.

First story: When OP says her parents told her to her face that she’s less beautiful than her sister, I thought they were bottom barrel. But her Dad’s explanations to his child about why he mistreated her, and how he and his wife thought about their children takes the cake. You don’t often come across such cruelty.

Story 2, Op do you know what flirting is, because what you stated here isn't flirting it is just talking
@mashonem10 ай бұрын
It depends on the person; one person’s “flirting” is another person’s “just being friendly”

Favoritism is very wildspread. In such extreme cases like this the parents threaten and blackmail the scapegoat kid from bringing family issues to friends of extended family.

forgiveness can seal an emotional wound it can help heal and scar faster but if it is not genuine it doesn't clean out the painful sickness then sadly that sealed wound will fester and grow till it lances or bursts in a worse way setting you back due to the malpractice "cure" treatment given.
