Excellent review .I do love the random patch feature (and love it in my mc101 as well)

Thanks for your reviews, it’s nice to have a place to go that isn’t clickbait / influencer channels.

Surely you can use an external quantisation for the 8 bar recording? Such as transpose a mid pattern from a DAW or MIDI sequencer. I used to set kaoss pad manually because the midi kept on slipping out, but synced to a number (128bmp etc) and it was binary heaven, the loops never slipped out. Come to think of it, the volca are similar, once you punch them in the are good to go, without the mixer it's always "acousic beat matching".

Thanks for taking the time to make this. Great over view of the OP-z. I have a gentle suggestion, maybe next time you can include some more sonic examples of the functionality that you are so elegantly demonstrating?

That was super helpful. I had been strongly considering getting one but was put off by build quality horror stories. Like you say, there’s no doubt people have had bad experiences, but that negativity has likely been amplified. I’d like to think the majority are just fine. I’ve got a milestone birthday coming up and I think I’ll treat myself. Thanks for the thoughtful review and here’s hoping you’ll put up some more OP-Z performances!

thanks for this comprehensive review. are you still using your op-z today and did you create a lot of music on it? :)

Yep, I still use it frequently. I love taking it out into the woods to do live sets like this one: kzbin.info/www/bejne/qqe1Z5iogJlosJo

Is you OP-Z bent a little? Mine was bent when it arrived. But it doesn't affect anything, not even the oplab module. It just looks like a banana.

Nicely done. I am slowly getting into the Z, but it's happening quickly as well :) More than anything happily surprised with the excellent sound.....appreciate your efforts here, very sensible, well-balanced, but also encouraging. Thank you.

You can just push the top of your finger into the feet to turn them and forget the slots.. Gnat way they won't get chewed up. Also, ifixit sells the batteries.. They are like $30. They sell quick though in batches.

I always wondered about this thing, I have mixed feelings about TE. I love the KO33 but I hated the OP1 🤷🏻 neat video!
