Shows everything but the most important bit, ie - how the bulb attaches to the housing. Easy to get the old one out. Not so easy to get the new one in.

Is that the black bit on the back of the bulb? Just tried to do this myself and failed! He doesn't show that bit, I couldn't get the old bulb unattached from that black back piece let alone get to the point of attaching the new bulb to it.

Take care when twisting the clip, it is held in place by 2 small torx screws (T15) to be safe loosen these screws by about 1 turn each then twist the fixing clip. If not and they were tight you could break the light unit by forcing it. Then you have a bigger and more expensive job. It is easier to leave the wire connector inplace and remove it when the bulb holder/ clip is removed ( easy to see from under the bonnet) also it is easier to put the wire connector back on before you replace the bulb back into the unit. Just done the job today( before watching youtube! I had to figure it out myself) hope this info helps.

Correct and right, If the Torx screws are tight it is near impossible to turn the holder in, unscrew them 1 turn only twist, fit the bulb reinstall and tighten the screws all from the engine side,

Thanks for this. Can I add a few points. Some people have said that they have had difficulty getting the old bulb from the holder, just push a small flat head screwdriver in between the two metal pieces and lever it out. Also I had a problem getting the rubber diaphragm back on with one hand, I would say to just persist with it, after five minutes it seemed to just fit back on nicely.

Thanks for the helpful video. For those of you having a hard time putting the round rubber cover back on, I figured that it was easier putting the whole thing through the hole (hehe) and then pulling it out (EEHHEH) until it stays in place.

the pollen filter is another nuisance to get at ...........if you check out other garages ..a.t.s even vauxhall .......no air....or pollen filters are included in any interim service under £200 which is disgracefull. i changed them myself as soon as i got the car ( a 4 year old ) it still had the original filters in ...and they were as black as coal . i couldve sworn i heard the car take a deep breath when i changed them ...or maybe it was my imagination ...fuel consumtion has improved greatly 600 miles out of a fullish tank ......ah well the joys of motoring ....massive boot for the dogs with the rear seats pushed forward . thanks again

martin manifold We can confirm that a dirty air filter can raise fuel consumption, its recommended to change the oil and the filters (oil, air, pollen, fuel) at around 9300 miles (about 15000 km)

Great video. Thanks for sharing. Take a photo of how the socket sits inside the light before twisting it out. I didn't and it was very fiddly getting it back in. The bulb just pulls out of the socket. 15 min job because of faffing about trying to get it back in.

Hi, How do you get the globe out of the plastic housing? You've shown (as in the instruction manual) how to remove the housing - with the globe still in, then the video skips the removal & replacement of the globe - the only part that isn't in the owners manual and the part I'm having trouble with. no, they are halogen bulbs and i used them for 5 years before they burned out so it was just plain luck

it isn't that hard, just pull on it. it's made of a hard plastic so i don't think you can break it

Use a screwdriver between the clips on the engine side on the arch and the flaps. They are stiff but they have to be.

there are 2 clips next the engine and 2 tongs next the road. Pull the clips back and pull down

From the top, just pop the hood and you will see the rubber grommet sealing the headlight like in the movie. (its takes a bit more work to do it this way)

Funny enough, the design is different bit better, You just need to slacken the 2 screws each side of the bulb holder . Once you do that and re tighten them, its simpler and better than sporing clips

This is not as easy as it looks. Taking the old bulb out was the first headache. The second headache was putting the rubber seal back in place.

This is totally wrong and misleading done by a bluffer. You must remove the over wheel flap as shown. Next you must remove the air filter housing by unscrewing the top back screw and the jubilee clip round the plastic air intake accordion pipe. Next slacken the 2 Torx head bolts each side of the bulb 1 turn only. Have the new bulb ready and do not touch the glass. Take out old bulb and insert the new exactly the same, Refit the bulb holder and tighten the 2 torx screws. Replace everything. If you do not unscrew the Torx screws, the bulb holder will not go back in under the tight screw heads.

Whoever a GM/Holden/Vauxhall/Opel designed this method of access to the bulbs is a fucking idiot. Trying to pull the bulb out of the wired bit takes me forever every. Single. Time. Lord knows why the headlight casing doesn't just pull off with a clip from the top, like 95% of other vehicles. Thanks for the video though.

Correct, remove the overwheel flap and the air filter housing. Slacken the 2 torx screws with a No 15 driver. Work from the engine only and re tighten the screws
