My 1.8l Petrol Zafira B takes 6.8l/100km...it's a save and reliable car. I can recommend it even as an older used vehicle.

That works out about 41 miles per gallon. I dont think 1.8 petrol can ever be that economical even in newer models. I think you meant you have diesel car?

This wasn't a fair test for the Zafira and felt biased toward the VW. For example, they said that there is less room in the back of the Zafira, as the seats do not fold fully. This is wrong. You can fold the rear seats away in "Van Mode" which gives much more room.

we've bought a secound hand zafira... The "under doors panel" is rusting really bad... its a 2006 version with 101 BHP its a very good car to drive. the engine is really showes off. you're sit very high and its very silent. i prefer the Zafira though the Touran (and all VW cars) are zinked, which protects it a lot more from rust.

Well first of all: I don't own or owned any of the two cars, however since our A6 3.2 Quattro with Tiptronic has been downsized to a A1 without a Gearbox by a young driver that crashed into it 2 days ago, another car is needed and I've driven both of them in the process. While I can say for sure, that I will not buy a Zafira, the Touran is quite a capable car. The most interesting feature about the Touran imo is the DSG Gearbox, which makes a HUGE difference.

This was a pretty terrible comparison (I suppose it doesn't matter 7 years later...) But 2½ minutes in, and the only thing he's done is (a) described a history of the rivalry (I couldn't care less), (b) talked about them going to 200km/h (who would EVER drive one of these that fast), and (c) talked about what they look like on the outside. Nobody is buying these cars to drive them fast or show off their exteriors. For all I know, maybe he makes a good point later on. But I couldn't finish watching it to find out.

I drove it 200 my vw and its pretty comfy at that speed. It was on a highway from Zenica to Sarajevo and it didnt fell like as if I was doing 200kph

Touran is not faster, Zafira A OPC/GSI is the first sports MPV and its the fastest MPV in Europe, Zafira B VXR and it can do 0-60 in under 7 seconds and also reach above 140MPH, Zafira are better in performance, punchy engines and Vauxhall are better in reliability but Zafira B had fire recall so Touran might be more reliable

Buying a Zafira was the worst motoring decision of my life, and also the worst financial decision, and I couldn;t wait to throw it away. Handling was ghastly - the damn thing just couldn;t be driven over 30 in anything other than a straight line. Corner visibility was best described as 'dangerous'. Access to the spare wheel involved crawling around on the floor behind the vehicle and was back-breaking. If I wasn't honest I would have just splashed the damn thing in petrol and torched it !

Wow Junge, Opel bringt einfach mehr Probleme und jedes auto kann nicht Problemlos sein das ist alles Glücksache. Aber Vw mit 140 - 170 oder 200 ps gehen schon gut gegensatz zu Opel. Es kommt drauf an wie du sie behandelt hast . Vw bleibt einfach der beste.

they just said the Opel is faster, smoother and more stable, leaving to vw only the advantage of more room and some fuel economy... so from my point of view if you want to have the more modern, sporty and not-so-ordinary people carrier... Opel is the way. The only deal breaker, and it's a big one which I don't know if they fixed in the C version of the Zafira, is the seats - VW got it right with the easy removal, Opel could take some notes on that... By the way, Zafira Panoramic, or Cosmo, has 4 roof windows and a center roof storage console that leaves VW crying...
