I think the end of new Doctor Who season 2 where Rose gets stuck in the other universe is an example of a good story using the multiverse. It was not easily traversable, which I think is the key to that kind of story.

I disagree with the Drinker: they DID plan ahead with Daniel Craig as James Bond. They've always intended to take away his character treats one by one and then kill him off like the sad Beta male they've turned him into and as the ultimate insult have a woman take over. Because, you know, Bond was the patriarchy and the patriarchy had to be demasculated, smashed and replaced by the "strong woman" era.

Multiverses. As a kid reading both the Marvel and DC takes on this the one thing that I always took for granted was that a multiverse was more than just a series of alternate timelines; alternate universes were places that were fundamentally different. They weren't just "Hitler won the Second World War" or "England lost the 1966 World Cup"; they were other realities where weird shit happened; universes where magic worked and science didn't, or where life was mechanical rather than organic. Some were variations on our reality, so DC had Earth-2 where the Golden Age heroes still existed and Earth-3 where all the heroes had been replaced with villains whose powers were essentially the same as their heroic counterparts. But we didn't get the dull, unimaginative crap that the MCU seems to think is the multiverse. The Dr Strange story felt like it understood the concept but somewhere along the way it totally lost the plot. I haven't seen Quantummania or whatever it's called but from what I've heard it's gone for the least imaginative take on the concept. I'd welcome a really good multiverse story, but I have no expectation of seeing it from anyone currently working in Hollywood.

Always hated how in the movies that they killed off great villians, sometimes heros. You never kill off a great villian, it stops them from coming back for revenge which is most stories in the comic books. Mainly because the fans do get attached to them. Also you can skip the endless origin stories about new villians and heros and allows you to get on with the next story with characters the fans love and want to see again. They killed off so many great villians and heros without having any great villians or heros to replace them with. They painted themselves into a corner in what to do next so many times, which lead to poor stories. The multiverse was done just to have an easy cough out for the writers to undo things they have done that seemed permanent and later on regreted doing.

So if we have to go for a reboot with Bond, which is problematic anyway. I just realised Daniel Craig's were a reboot already. He became a 00 at the start of Casino Royale. Hard to see any other option than the hard reset Drinker mentions. I guess we can only hope it's done well with a great bit of casting for Bond but we have been disappointed so many times before in recent years, so who tf knows?. Interesting point about TLJ, but I'd say personally stuff like The Acolyte was the real wake up call. When TLJ came out armies of people were brigading to defend it by any means, having been fed the narrative that they're "on the right side of history" if they support it. With the Acolyte I feel there was more of a unity amongst the fandom, maybe because almost 7 years later people were finally no longer falling for disney and the extended media's manipulation (ie, claiming Kelly Marie got bullied to oblivion when this was conveniently never screenshotted) of "its just the toxic/racist fandum menace at work!"

Well, it's more of an issue of the bloodlines of Númenore just not being on Númenore anymore: it was the land and the blessing of the Valar that made these Men taller, stronger and more long-lived than their Middle-Earth counterparts: as long as they remained on that isle, which was closer to Aman than Middle-Earth (its proximity may or may not have affected them much like the Trees affected the Elves), but in Middle-Earth, the blood isn't being "refreshed". Them interbreeding with Middle Men was, for the most part, rare. Even if they never ever married outside their race, they would eventually become "normal Men".

All of the buildings look like AI. How long since anyone has even seen a newspaper? Lois seems to be dressed like a feminist and prolly doesn't shave 'down there '. Krypto and Superman are very 50s-ish. The movie seems to be borrowed from the early comic books and made more relevant to 'modern audiences ' (translation: pre-teens). I don't think I even saw a cellphone, which might make young people sick...😎
