Steam deck isn't primarily an emulation machine. So it's weird to compare the two. Comparing an emulator to a console isn't really an apples to apples thing. It just sounds more like you want to marry your steam deck, which may be legal in your country. Just make sure you sign a pre-nup, cuz in 5 years you'll want a new one.

This little thing looks awesome, love how it basically is the epitome of mostly everything the general market has moved away from: Buttons that don't ask where they fit so long as they do, chunky design to cram powerful components and an enormous battery, resistive touch screen because tiny and (probably) more reliable, linux because free, and free games because linux and awesome emulators. I really am wondering why the general market doesn't take design cues from that little high-tech brick and design a controller with a keyboard in it that doesn't look ridiculous

The story was that Mortal Kombat was originally pitched as a Bloodsport tie-in game but they couldn't secure the license. They still wanted to make it like an homage so they kept the basic plot (secret martial arts tournament on an island) and made Liu Kang the protagonist instead of the JCVD character, which they renamed "Johnny Cage" and had portrayed by Daniel Pesina instead of JCVD.

@@throbgoblin69 The main difference between the Pandora and the Pyra is that the Pyra has competition, in the UMPC market. The Pandora took a while to be completed, but it was a unique project, at the time. Taking a while wasn't a big deal. These days, taking a while to reach completion can potentially kill quite a bit of the hype, since there are alternatives. I'm watching this video on a GPD Win Max, for example, and I'm typing this comment out with it. There's also competition with SMCs that use ARM processors. The Raspberry Pi line has already reached Dreamcast emulation, for the most part, by the Raspberry Pi 4 B model, and there is at least a single portable gaming shell for housing an entire RP4B. Not to mention gaming shells for the Compute Module 3+.

WH250398 this video is very very old, the pandora can now run a lotof native games(like great classics you see on steam like half life) and the ghz is being sold for 380 wich is really cheap considering how expensive pandoras were before, it goes out of stock very quickly but there is a email subscription (in the dragnbox website) that can notificate you when there are new pandoras on stock, and it has been confirmed new ones will come soon the month.

Dont expect this to run BattleField 4, but steam has a few old games, meaning you could probably play Sonic 2 without fucking around with roms and stuff if you dont mind paying a few quid. Then again, the controller might not work. I dont know, its worth a try I suppose.

The people who made the OpenPandora then made the iControlPad, a pretty excellent game controller for bluetooth enabled phones, brilliant for emulators, but not supported by many native apps. Now they're trying to do one better (well, several better) and developed the iControlPad2, which features a physical keyboard, USB connection, a much better holder (flip out) AND you can now map the controls to on-screen ones they often use, so it's supported by almost any app now. And it's all open source!

Cinema has been recorded at 24 fps for years now, but the reason it appears fluid is because of motion blur blurring the frames together. There are many examples that show that the human eye can tell the difference between say 24 and 60 fps. Especially in video games.

For what it's worth, that van Damme/Mortal Kombat rumor has some merit to it - originally Mortal Kombat was going to be a fighting game based on the movie Bloodsport, and when licensing rights fell through, they just took what they had and replaced van Damme's character with Johnny Cage. Jail breaking, is when you override a PSP's official firmware from Sony, and install your own Custom Firm Ware (CFW for short). This allows you to then run programs that haven't been authorized by Sony, such as Emulators, and homebrew games (Like Lamecraft, a Minecraft port). For instance, once Jail broken, you can take any PS1 game in ISO format, quickly convert it to PSP format using some free software, and play PS1 games on the go! And it works very well.

Former Mac owner here. Macs and PCs have their own advantages and disadvantages. It also has a lot of exclusive artistic programs that many professionals in creative medias use. I think iTunes is excellent and easy to use, just like Mac, but it's not the best gaming PC, but Macs DO have games, despite what most PC owners think. That's why I switched, to play games better. Nothing more (I miss iMovie...).
