I just bought for a board with a PCIE 5 nvme drive with active cooling because I think having this extra speed from the harddriven will come in handy to quickly load a big LLM into RAM. Future will tell if it was a good investment. Like, when running your own local LLM for whatever purpose, you obviously don't want to have it sitting blocking all your ram 24/7 so being able to quickly load it as quick as possible sounds like a really valid reason for pcie 5 to exist. That little fan though... It is really load. I have not yet completed buildling my new PC yet so I don't know, but I suppose that it won't get hot anyway unless under load. Gotta put my OS on the pcie 4 drive haha.
