Glad that the Hindi and Tamil scripts finally worked! These aren't necessarily my favorite Mirabel voices in general but I truly adore the singing of Camille (French), Nithyashree (Tamil), Jaijam (Thai), Jackie (Chinese Mandarin) and Sandra (Swedish)...their voices sound immensely touching here.

Yeah, finally! Infinite thanks to the admins from Disney Duniya who helped me and explained what to do to me :_) I'm gonna be so hated for this, but while I really appreciate Camille's efforts and I can hear she tries to bring all the emotions to Mirabel (and I actually like her voice, she does a good job), I think sometimes she gets to a point where she is a bit histrionic instead of emotional and I find her acting a bit forced, and this is one of those moments :__D. I have only read good things about her acting from other people, so maybe this is just me, but that's how I feel about her performance in this song ;_; I really enjoy her "Family Madrigal", tho. However, I totally agree about Sandra, Jaijam and Jackie, and I also love Ruki with my whole heart during the whole song, she is so on point ♥.

@@erlynalibio9463 Yes, but "open the eyes" makes no sense in English, whereas it's the way to say it in the romance languages.
Georgian, English, French, Norwegian, Hebrew, Thai, Japanese, German and Dutch Are my favorites😍😍

Fun fact, the Finnish verb _nähdä_ (nää in this part) and the Hungarian verb _néz_ are related but the meaning has changed a little so that the Finnish one means "see" and the Hungarian one "look" 😄
@EliaEll2 жыл бұрын
Kind of reminds me of how there must be some kind of dialectal difference when it comes to the meaning of "mirar" and "ver" in Spain and Colombia. For me, mirar=look and ver=see, but here she says the words in a way that they mean the opposite thing, I understand the sentence as it is by context. At first I thought it was because that way "mirar" and "ver" fit better with the metrics of the lyrics, but they constantly use "mirar" as "see" throughout the movie and in other songs, so the dialectal difference must be it. By the way, how similar are Hungarian and Finnish? As someone who has no clue about either language, I can see a lot of similarities between Finnish and Estonian, but I barely see any between Hungarian and Finnish (or Estonian), even if they are in the same family.
@MirkaKaroliina2 жыл бұрын
@@EliaEll Uralic languages separated thousands of years ago so the similarities between Finnish and Hungarian only exist in old words and grammatical structures. Many words describing the human body, relatives and nature are still similar but they have also changed a lot over the years. Finnish is the most archaic one and has kept many words really close to Proto-Uralic whereas Hungarian has changed the most. One good example sentence is: Jään alla talvella elävät kalat uiskentelevat A jég alatt télen eleven halak úszkálnak (Literally "Under the ice, at winter, vivid fishes swim about")

I still listening to this, again and again. There's something so captivated in each language. And yes, in every language, the line has a different meaning, but they're beautiful in their own way. For example, the "See, don't just look" in Hungarian has created a whole new plot for the song (and fits with the scene in the video, I think). The "I look to the dawn" in Vietnamese is very unique and pretty too, but it just doesn't go along with the original. It's just an opinion :)

I really love the Hungarian translation of this line, too. The lyrics in Spanish also play with the "see vs look" meaning. It's just so on point of those versions.

In Turkish, 'Open your eyes wide' is in plural, so she's referring to the whole family.

Thanks!! I always start with Spanish and end with English and then arrange the languages in group by families/location, but the order is a bit random otherwise :__)

Hi! I was wondering if you could do this line when Abuela says it in 'All of You' I'm curious since I think the delivery would be kind of prioritized on that one.
@EliaEll2 жыл бұрын
Great idea! I want to do one one-line multi of each song, and I'll probably choose that part for All Of You :) But I think most languages will be say different things from what Mirabel says here. I loved the parallel when I heard this song for the first time. Thanks for your suggestion!

I used to think the Hungarian version said "Lásd be, csak nézd", but this actually makes a lot more sense

I saw both versions of the lyrics and I went with this one cause I thought it made more sense too (and to my (non-Hungarian speaking) ears it sounded more like what she's saying too).
