I recall when your channel had literally 2 subscribers, and I was one of them. It was just like finding some sort of niche heaven, for I have always liked to play with/open old stuff. Look at you now ! Proud of you, man !

You are one of the most interesting underrated youtubers I have ever came across. You do stuff that many people doesn't dare to do, which is opening old foods and drinks and at times taste testing the ones that looks alright. That is why I subscribed. Glad to see you back again (couple weeks late) and hope to see your channel grow even more this year.

I’d highly recommend wearing gloves, what with all the mold, rust, and probably toxic metals- definitely a dust mask too. I love your videos, and I want you to stay safe!

I'm so glad you're posting again. I found your channel when my husband was working the night shift for a while a couple of years ago. I couldn't sleep, so I would stay up and watch your videos. It was so comforting and a great way to pass the time. You're still the most relaxing channel on KZbin! It's like watching one of those old PBS or public access shows from the '80s or '90s. You just can't find that anymore.

😄 Sometimes I worry though of the long term exposure to the mold spores. Perhaps I'm overthinking it or mixing the mold in the food with other molds(?)

That would probably be a close to impossible item to find but I would predict the pressure may be lost and it would have solidified and it wouldn't come out

@@CrazyWeatherDude nah I meant the spray cheese. You don't have to refrigerate it because it's packed air tight with a plastic cylinder with compressed air behind it. Just want to see a solid block of cheese cut out of the can.

Any chance you might buy more decades old canned seafood? The Hegg & Hegg Sturgeon from 2020 was epic and looked like it absolutely stank, even more so as it oxidized from light/air exposure.

my advice to you - get a safety can opener/safe cut can opener! They remove the lid in such a way that doesn't damage it and then you can put it back on again. Might be useful for collectors like you.

You are a very brave man handling mouldy and/or rusty cans without wearing gloves! I would be terrified of getting a cut infected with something nasty. I loved the comparison flashbacks to previous videos, e.g. the cranberry sauce.

Some of the codes on top of the lids could be a Julian date code where they use the day of the year for the first three digits, followed buy the year number as the last digit.

I can understand charging for cans that are in good shape, especially the older ones, as they are collectible. But I don’t understand charging anything for cans in this bad of shape. I know it was only $10 for the lot but still. 🤷🏻‍♀️

That's my question. Are people selling these cans at the estate sale or do you see them at estate sales and ask to buy them? Cans that could be collectibles I get, but is there some niche market for rusty moldy cans?

I run estate & tag sales for a living and yeah-there’s a market for everything, you’d be surprised what people buy. But…..I’m shocked that anyone would charge someone $10 for those frightening ass cans. I’d throw those away if I came across them while organizing.
