Really I just love any game that can (near) perfectly embody reality, creating a challenging, story-driven survival experience without fantasy (nothing against fantasy, I love it in many forms, but it's nice to walk on a new path sometimes). On paper, surviving as a wild animal seems simple as a game concept, but when designed this well, it becomes an amazing experience. There's no epic, novel-esque journey because you play as an animal in our world. As animals, we've grown incredibly distant from the hidden life or death adventure in wild nature; and after millenia of civilization and technological development, it was was made into a simulation for fun and learning. The hidden struggle, adventure, and world experience itself within a premise that sounds mundane compared to our wild imaginations, that's Wolf Quest. Our beautiful world and the endeavor to simply survive what we'd deem something horrible, but what this world is designed on, that's Wolf Quest. Wolf Quest is a simulation of a wild animal's life. An entirely different world in a realistic digital copy of our very own with realistic locations. If you never visited Yellowstone before playing, it'd feel like you walked right into a digital world, going on to discover the lands beyond the map; but it's the exact opposite. Wolf Quest tells the story of our world, opening eyes to the wild and fantastical world we overlook. How wonderful

You guys are so awesome. I bought the game about a year before Slough Creek came out and it's so amazing to see how much progress you guys have made working on the game. I'm so proud of everyone pouring their souls into making this game realistic, educational, and also fun for the players. I can't wait to see The Saga come to life as well as playing on the new Lost River map! I love wolves and have been studying animal behavior for the last few years and I also love to game so this is like a two in one dream for me. Thanks so much for all your hard work! Don't forget to take breaks though! You guys definitely deserve it. I'm always so happy when a new video comes out, I always watch them. :) Thanks again!

These uploads always bring me such joy. I've been playing WolfQuest since I was 12. I'm now 22, 23 in October, and in college to become a vet. Yet despite the years this game holds such a special place in my heart and I STILL play it to this day with my friend who i've known for just as long. The excitement we had when we could raise puppies together... lol I just want to thank you all on the WolfQuest team. You played an important role in my childhood, not only giving me something great to enjoy as an animal nerd, but also a safe place to find friends. Without playing WolfQuest, I would have never met the people I did who got me into digital art. I would be on a completely different path in life without the ripples caused by discovering a wolf game on my 12th birthday. I'm sure that sounds dramatic, but... It's true. Again, thank you guys so much. Your game means more to me than most.

Wow, WolfQuest makes such an effort to make this game the way their players want it. The fact they go out of their way to read the feedback of us shows how much they pay attention to their players' needs and wants. I also want to thank the team for allowing us to see how the game itself is actually created, all the time that gets put into the development and the patience you've got to have in order to get things working just right for players. I've always been fascinated by game environments and all the processes involved behind the scenes, so thanks to you all for allowing us to watch your progress. It's awesome!

Im so excited for new Lost River map! The inside looks great, has that spooky abandoned atmosphere. Lost River always reminded me of abandoned Chernobyl. As it looks like in Lost River everyone left the area in a hurry and without taking much. The coffee shop being left as it was enhances that Chernobyl feel. Being able to go inside some of the new building is going to make new Lost River feel more immersive. It would also be cool to see building that haven’t soot the test of time as well as the others. Like parts of the building have collapsed and plants have taking over. I always appreciate these dev blog videos!

It would be nice if there was lots of human interactable(s) that are currently in the game, (Like the hats, or human shoes, etc) that show up more frequently or there are a ton of in this area! There could also be water troughs (since this looks like an old wildwesty like town, or some sort of water source that the wolves can drink from (A leaky faucet on the street or behind a building that has made a puddle over the years or a small little pond due to erosion) ^^

There are millions of realistic details that won't make it into a game for lots of reasons... most having to do with gameplay, performance, and the budget - to name a few.
@Rorosella2 жыл бұрын
As wolfquest devs said there are a lot of details I can imagine that dont make it to the game for very specific reasons. and I commend their work greatly. they're amazing at what they do for such a small team. but i will say the animations of the animals themselves... seem stiff? Maybe not the environment but im hoping that once they've established all they need story wise that they can do some tweaks to those animations specifically to the wolves.

Hey! I'm not sure where I should write this but have three small ideas for the game, two based on real wolf behavior and one being just a cool possible feature, I hope others enjoy my ideas lol 1 the most important one that I would absolutly love to see implemented: playing as a deceased iron wolf only in multi-player mode. I just though it would be cool to show off one of your past iron wolves to other people like "hey here is their story, how they died, how long they lived, etc" and it would be a sweet way to remember your past iron wolf. 2 maybe some berry plants wolves can eat from while raising pups, I remembered watching a video somewhere(shared by you guys I think?) about how wolves have been seen to eat some kinds of berries while feeding pups to help with giving them nutrients and its a cute idea to see your wolf eating some berries for your pups lol 3 (one hat i know probably won't get implemented but is an idea i think others could like) *gay wolves*(well, kinda, I say that as a sorta joke) I know its not how they usually function in the wild or in the game, due to needing to pass on genetics and have pups, but I have seen something talking about how sometimes, if the mate dies, the wolf will pair up with one of the same gender in order to finish raising the pups, and it would be kinda cool to see if maybe after your mate dies while raising pups for a short time you can get another wolf of the same gender to help raise the pups the rest of the way, and then when the next year rolls around you can find a different mate of the opposite gender. I know that one is very much long shot so keep in mind its only an idea, and im actually curious about any other research into that.
